1 Scope

This BritishStand rd specifies electrical

con ections betwe n towing v ehicles and trai er or

semitrai er when24V antiock braking sy stems

are fit ed

2 Connectors

Towing v ehicles and traier or semi trai er shal

be eq uip ed with a ty pe24N ( normal con ector

that compl es with BSAU19 and a ty e24S

( sup lementary ) con ector that comples with

BSAU19

3 Anti ock powering

3.1 Towing v ehicles shal be wired in ac ord ance

with Fig ure 1 when they are fit ed with antiock

braking sy stems or are intend ed to ru with trai er

or semi traier equip ed with anti ock braking

sy stems

4 Anti ock fa ilur warning

4.1 Towing v ehicles as des ribed in3.1 shal be

fit ed with a tel -tale that, when l t, indicates

defectiv e fu ctioning , defectiv e condition or the

fai ure to fu ction of the trai er anti ock braking

sy stem

The tel tale shal be3W ma imum, red and located

in the forward field of v ision of the driver and v isible

ev en b d y lig ht

4.2 Traier or semitrai er as des ribed in3.2,

shal be fit ed with an anti ock fai ure warning

tel -tale that, when lt, indicates d efectiv e

fu ctioning , d efectiv e cond ition or the fai ure to

fu ction of the anti ock braking sy stem

The tel -tale shal be7W ma imum, gre n and

mou ted so that it is within the field of v ision of the

driv er’s mir or and v isible ev en b d y lig ht
