intended to red uce the prob bi ity of injury to
chidren in an ac id ent This stand rd a ples to
d ev ices intended for use in the forward -facing rear
seating positions in the v ehicle or in the
forward-facing f ont seating positions in such
v ehicles as lg ht commer ial v ehicles where there is
a equate sp ce for a car y cot to be car ied
transv er ely
Manufacturing req uirements are specified for the
materials used and for the finish of buckles and
other rig id p rts
Tests are specified for the d etermination of the
streng th and dura i ty characteristic of the
restraining dev ices and of their components The

c) a statement to the efect that the mas of the
oc up nt of the car y cot with which the dev ice is
intend ed to be used shal be not g reater
than10kg
1)
Marking BSAU1 6 on or in relaton to a prod ct is a claim b the man facturer that the prod ct has b en man factured to
the re uirements of the stan ard.The ac uracy of such a claim is therefore solely the man facturer’s resp nsibiliy Enquiries as
to the a aila iliy of third p rty certficaton to sup ort such claims should b ad res ed to the Director,Qualiy Assurance
Div ision,BSI,May lan s Aven e, Hemel Hempste d,Hefts HP2 SQ for certficaton marks administered b BSI or to the
