4 Test methods

4.1 Cyl nder mounting str eng th tests

4.1.1 General

When a vehicle is eq ip ed with seve al cy lin e s, they should pr fe a ly be t est ed as a unit

When groups of cy linde s ar ins aled on a vehicle such that they ar separat ely anchor d t o the

original s ructur of the vehicle, then each sep rat e groupof cy lin e s ma be t est ed in ivid aly

When pe forming these t es s, ac es ories an piping shal not contribut e t o r infor ing the cy lin e

mounting

The r q ir ment of ISO 1 5 1-1:—, 4.4.3, shal be verified b the tes spe ified in 4.1.2, 4.1.3, 4.1.4

or 4.1.5

4.1.2 Iner tia test

The cy lin e or cy lin e s t o be t est ed shal be mount ed on the vehicle b dy or a p rt of the vehicle

b dy, ac ording t o the spe if ications of the original eq ipment man factur r (OEM) or aft er-market

conve t er

The vehicle b dy or p rt of the vehicle b dy shal be f irmly anchor d t o the t es troley The method

used for anchoring the vehicle b dy t o the t es troley shal not r sult in r infor ement of the cy lin e

anchorag es or the p rt of the vehicle s ructur p rticip ting in anchoring the cy lin e or cy lin e s

4.1.3 Static test

4.1.5.1 By testing

4.1.5.2 By calculatio

4.3 Functional test

4.3.1 Main shut-of val ve test

— c anking on fuel othe than CNG, or

— theengine is not run ing on CNG

4.3.2 Rec eptacle cle ranc e test

Ensur that r e sp c aroun the r c ptacle conforms t o ISO 1 5 1-1

4.4 Rec eptacle mounting tests

This t es can be pe formed at ambient t empe atur eithe on a vehicle, or as a bench t es using a CNG

fuel sy st em eq iv lent in g eometry an anchoring t o the vehicle In eithe case, con e t the noz le t o

the r c ptacle an pr s uriz the CNG fuel sy st em t o se vic pr s ur

The g s tightnes of the CNG fuel sy st em shal not be afe t ed aft er
