4.4.1 General

4.4.2 Resistanc e to ag ing

When t est ed in ac ordanc with ISO 1 8, the phy sical pro e ties of elast ome ic joint rings aft er o en

ag eing at 1 0 °C ± °C for 7 h shal be at leas 6 % of the as-r c ived t ensi e s r ngth an elong tion

4.4.3 Resistanc e to ex posur e to l q ids

4.5.1 General

4.10 Water flow

4.12 Str es c or r osion

Aft er being subje t ed t o the con itions desc ibed in 5.1 , a bras p rt containing gr at er than 1 % zinc

shal comply with the folowing r q ir ment :

a) show no evidenc of c acking w hen ex mined using 2 × ma nif ication;

b) if the e is evidenc of c acking of pr s ur -r taining eq ipment, comply with 4.6 at 2 times the

ma imum working pr s ur rathe than 4 times the ma imum working pr s ur ;

c) if the e isevidenc of c acking of eq ipment hat is not pr s ur -r taining, comply with 4.1

4.13 S lt-spray c orrosion

Aft er being subje t ed t o the con ition desc ibed in 5.1 , eq ipment cons ruct ed from metal c part

using combinations of bras , bronz or fe rous metals shal show no des ruction or damag e w hich

imp irs function

4.14 Lig ht and water e x posure

F olowing lght and wat er ex osur for 7 0 h, as spe if ied in 5.1 , an ext erior polyme ic or f ibr glas

comp nent p rt or samples pr par d from the same ext erior p lyme ic or fibr glas comp nent

mat erial shal comply with the folowing r q ir ment :

a) shal show no evidenc of c acking;

b) a comp nent p rt that ne ds not be cut or alter d in orde to be subje ted to the ex osur shal

fu ction as inten ed w hen o e ated at it ma im um inlet pr s ur an ma im um flow rate for 2 min;

c) a comp nent p rt that ne ds t o be cut or alt er d in orde t o be subje t ed t o the ex osur shal

have phy sical pro e ties not les than 6 % of the original as-r c ived phy sical pro e ties w hen

subje t ed t o t ensi e t es s desc ibed in ASTM D63

4.15 He t and fir e resistanc e

Aft er being subje t ed t o the con ition desc ibed in 5.1 , fo m discharg e devic s int en ed t o be ins aled

NOTE Certain plastic req ire a lower oven temperature In such cases, if the ac eleration factor are

u k own, it is as umed that the lowering of the temperature by 1 °C implies a doubling of the a eing time

5.3 Liquid ex posure test

Imme se five samplesin fo m conc ntrat e or fo m solution with w hich the mat erial comes int o contact,

in ac ordanc with ISO 1 5, for 2 0 d at 5 °C ± °C The ty e of fo m conc ntrat e an the p ramet ers

NOTE For a sample that is in contin ous contact with either fo m concentrat e or fo m solution, compliance

with the test in fo m concentrate is considered representative of the t est in fo m solution

5.4 Equipment pr es ur ization test

The medium ex ansion fo m eq ipment shal be fast ened in the t es devic Blan of or plug al

orif ic s Fi l the medium ex ansion fo m eq ipment with wat er, close the vent air an pr s uriz the

hydros atic pr s ur four times the ma imum working pr s ur an maintain this pr s ur for 5 min

5.5 Le k r esistanc e test

The medium ex ansion fo m eq ipment shal be ins aled on the pipelne Blan of or plug al orif ic s,

lea ing one con e tion for pr s urization an an outlet fitt ed with a suita le v lve for venting air

0,2 MPa s(2 b r/s), t o not les than 1,5 times the ma imum working pr s ur an maintain for 5 min

5.6 Flow coeficient measur ement

larg er than that of the discharg e orif ic of the fo m eq ipment R ecord flow rat es at the minimum,

The discharg e coefficient K fact or) shal be calculat ed using the formula as given in ISO 7 76- 2:2 1 , 3.2

The enclosur used for det ermining ex ansion ratio shal be of a siz such that at leas 6 s ar r q ir d

t o the t es s an the enclosur ar a calculat ed F oam is t o be discharg ed at the minimum, normal an

ma imum inlet pr s ur F or each t es , the flow rat e, inlet pr s ur , time an cor esp n ing depth of
