One of the first questions asked by law enforcement officials after a crime is committed is
“What was the motive?” Crime scene investigators work with detectives and law enforcement to piece together the many parts of the puzzle but understanding the psychology of crime requires an additional skill set In my opinion, there are 2 main reasons why people commit a crime: Subjective reason and objective reason
In term of subjective reasons, due to legal awareness from the crime, such as they are not propagated, disseminated the laws, or they do not understand the provisions of law as well
as poor sense of law of violators For example, people cross a red light when participating
in traffic intentionally, being involved in drug trafficking, gambling…
Secondly, objective reasons may include family circumstances: a crime lives in poverty, is not taken care from family, school and society which let them take part in social evils Another important reason is social environment such as weak security with many evils, the surrounding friends are bad ones, so they are easily suffered from crime
In conclusion, the causes of crime are complex We accept that poverty, domestic abuse, low self-esteem, and alcohol and drug abuse are all connected in explaining why people commit crimes Yet, these factors do not offer a comprehensive explanation of exactly why some people resort to crime The reasons why people commit crimes are as unique and varied as the individuals who commit them
