Trang 2It is with great pleasure and excitement that I welcome you to the 25th Annual Adelante Mujer Latina (AML) Conference I am honored to be able to share this fulfilling and life-changing experience with all of you— our aspiring Latinas
For some of you, this may be your first time attending this conference For many of you, welcome back! Our passionate and dedicated volunteers have united as one to strategically develop new ideas and organize this conference in order to provide you with the tools for academic and personal growth I challenge each and every one of you to expand your minds and take in all of the information that is provided to you by our very knowledgeable workshop presenters as they are here to guide you through your career decision-making process Be curious, ask questions, seek clarification, but most of all—have fun!
As a first-generation Latina college graduate and now Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I grew up in a family where higher education was not something that was heard of very often Taking the initiative to ask questions and seek answers has helped mold me into the career-oriented person that I am today Always remember that you are one of a kind and have something great to offer
I have been volunteering for Adelante Youth Alliance for a few years now and never could I imagine how rewarding this experience could be If there is one thing that stands out about this organization is that every single person involved is passionate about promoting leadership and encouraging you to pursue a post-high school education as they truly believe
in you and your dreams
To all of our school staff, mentors, family, and friends sharing this experience with the attendee—we thank you for being
a strong role model and encouraging our future leaders to focus on reaching their full potential I would also like to thank Pasadena City College, advisory board, sponsors, volunteers, and exhibitors for making this conference possible as your hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed
To all of my young Latinas…Keep shining, the world needs your light!
