a) The candidates Invite a member of the Buckeye Association of School Administrators’ or related organization’s legislative committee to our large-group practicum session Students will interview the BASA legislative representative individually and/or in small group and learn about BASA’s agenda for the current school year Following a review of their legislative agenda via internet and interview with local district administrators, students will complete the following:
1 Provide a one-page reaction paper to the presentation
2 Draft a two-page position paper regarding one of the current initiatives
b) Candidates are required to select a board of education policy, analyze it, and discuss the underpinnings upon which its viability and validity are based
c) Candidates are required to analyze and make a report to the school board or graduate class about the state’s accountability laws
d) Candidates are required to identify the most frequent legal issues facing a school or district, and develop a report identifying the reasons for these issues, including recommendations for solutions to particular situations
