3.1 Manage the Organization a) The candidate will interview or survey
personnel to develop a conceptual framework
that relates to Instructional Leadership and
Management The Interview/Survey sessions
should reflect the following format:
1 The goal and objective(s) for the Interview/
Survey sessions must be clearly and concisely written, 2 The questions will need to be structured in such a way so that the goal and objective(s) can be achieved, and there must
be an evaluation as to whether the goal and objective(s) were attained Below are the personnel to be interviewed or surveyed:
1 School Principal
2 District Director of Pupil Services
3 Guidance Counselor [any level]
4 School Nurse, Custodian, or Food Service Supervisor
5 Psychologist
6 School Social Worker
7 Gifted Education Teacher
8 Special Education Teacher
9 Alternative Education Program Administrator
10 School Crisis Prevention, Intervention, and Management [Principal]
b) The candidate will complete at least one
level I (observation) and one level II (interview) experience in each of the five
major administrative areas (10 experiences) Experiences are to be reported in log form
c) The candidate will develop an action plan on one of the following topics He/she will assume that he/she is a first year business manager in a district of 5000 students and this will be his/her plan for the second year in the school district
1 Revise the school transportation system
2 Revise the school lunchroom program so it
is not a yearly deficit status
3 Organize a plan to start negotiations with the support staff union The contract expires January 1st of the next school year
4 Revise the district’s risk management and insurance program
5 Revise the maintenance and cleaning program for the district
6 Determine the district’s enrollment projections for the next 10 years
