And every person will definitely always have the three most important relationships in their life: Family, Friends and Work

So now Let's move on to the first relationship

II FAMILY RELATIONSHIP

Life is much easier when you have a supportive family that sticks with you through thick and thin Family relationships are important for a person at every stage of life When life gets hard and starts to grip away from your control, the kind words of your mother, spouse,

or siblings calm your soul and give you the strength and courage to take on life head-on

In this post, we talk about the importance of family, its characteristics, and ways to build a strong relationship with family members

Trang 5

First, let's find out why family relationships are important

A family is important because our mental growth, well-being, and stability all depend on our family

- A family makes all its members feel safe and connected to one another

- It provides us with the comfort of having people by our side during tough times, helping us to manage our stress

Trang 6

- A family allows us to feel safe, protected, accepted and loved despite our

shortcomings

- Families are the basic units that teach children about relationships Children brought

up in a healthy family will be able to form better bonds outside their home

- Strong relationships teach us how to build trust in others as family members share

both good and bad times together

- Conflicts in family teach children a respectful way to resolve problems in the future

- A strong family is all a person needs to become confident in life

Next is how to build strong family relationships

Trang 7

Here are some ways to build strong family connections:

1 Spend quality time

Set aside some time (maybe meal times) every day as family time, when you can talk about things and laugh together

• Share family stories or ask everyday simple things to encourage conversation,

such as “Hey, what did you do today in the school?”, “How are you finding your new Math teacher?”

• Set aside one-on-one chat time for everyone in the family to foster your bond

It can merely be five minutes before going to bed, but this can bring every member close to one another

• Set some time apart exclusively for your partner

Trang 8

2 Maintain good communication with everyone in the family

When your children or spouse want to talk, respect their needs and listen to them with attention Give them enough time to express themselves properly

• Be approachable to talk about difficult things Talking about feelings like anger

or frustration or delicate issues should be welcomed instead of shunning them Talking about them doesn’t mean you are encouraging them but are helping solve the problem Also be welcoming even for uncomfortable conversations That is how people build trust that they can go to family with any issue

• Be ready for a spontaneous conversation with kids They often talk about their feelings before going to bed or in the shower Listen to them

• Be prepared to talk about matters of concern, especially with teenagers Families find it difficult to discuss sex, alcohol, drugs or finances with the younger members However, it is through a conversation that you can address such matters

• Encourage non-verbal conversation through simple gestures like a warm kiss

on the forehead every night before your children go to bed It can relay your love to them

3 Appreciate everyone in the family

Appreciate every member for performing their duties well For example, praising and thanking a teenager for taking care of a younger sibling will make them feel important

Trang 9

4 Acknowledge and celebrate each other’s talents, differences and strengths

A good family always cherishes the uniqueness of each of its members and acknowledges their abilities and strengths At the same time, they help each other correct their shortcomings

5 Stay focused on the current problem

Do not bring up previous issues every time you have to address a problem In that way, you can avoid unpleasantness and instead, focus on the issue at hand

6 Work like a team

When your family works as a team, every member feels acknowledged for their contribution Share household chores Allow little children to participate in chores like picking up their toys or putting their shoes back

7 Establish clear family rules

Make family rules that clearly mention how every member should behave and treat each other For example, “We talk respectfully with everyone in our family,” or “In our family,

we help each other no matter what.” Such small but clear rules can make the family stronger and peaceful

8 Teach children to forgive and make amends

Healthy families teach its members how to apologize, and forgive others when someone makes a mistake It teaches children to take responsibility for their actions Try to have fun family rituals, which are special to your family, to increase the sense of belongingness The first relationship that you establish after birth is with your family When life seems challenging, your family plays a role in supporting you Good communication, a feeling of togetherness, and constant support are common features of an affectionate family To establish a stronger bond with your family, spend quality time with them, appreciate their efforts, and work together People living in loving families have better attitudes and richer values However, creating such families is not easy It requires hard work and dedication

to stay together and achieve a common goal

Trang 10

III FRIENDSHIP

Now, I am going to talk about friendship

First, Do you know exactly What does friendship really mean?

Friendship is the relationship between two or more people who want to engage with one another

Trang 11

It involves having mutual interest in each other’s thoughts, feelings and experiences Friendships work on reciprocity of trust, respect, emotional support and admiration

Friendship is categorized into four main types: acquaintance, friend, close friend and

best friend Over time, an increase in mutual respect and the degree of reciprocity builds

up and strengthens friendship

We can say that Friendship is important People are healthier, happier and less stressed

when they have good friends to lean onto

Trang 12

About the benefits of friendships: Good friends are good for your health Friends can help you celebrate good times and provide support during bad times Friends prevent isolation and loneliness and give you a chance to offer needed companionship, too Friends can also:

• Increase your sense of belonging and purpose

• Boost your happiness and reduce your stress

• Improve your self-confidence and self-worth

• Help you cope with traumas, such as divorce, serious illness, job loss or the death

of a loved one

• Encourage you to change or avoid unhealthy lifestyle habits, such as excessive drinking or lack of exercise

Trang 13

Friends also play a significant role in promoting your overall health Adults with strong social connections have a reduced risk of many significant health problems, including depression, high blood pressure and an unhealthy body mass index (BMI) In fact, studies have found that older adults who have meaningful relationships and social support are likely to live longer than their peers with fewer connections

I don’t know how many friends is enough for each person but I think that quality counts

more than quantity While it may be good to cultivate a diverse network of friends and

acquaintances, you may feel a greater sense of belonging and well-being by nurturing close, meaningful relationships that will support you

Sometimes, it’s hard to make friends or maintain friendships

Many adults find it’s hard to develop new friendships or keep up existing friendships Friendships may take a back seat to other priorities, such as work or caring for children or aging parents You and your friends may have grown apart due to changes in your lives or interests Or maybe you've moved to a new community and haven't yet found a way to meet people Developing and maintaining good friendships takes effort The enjoyment and comfort friendship can provide, however, makes the investment worthwhile

Trang 14

For example about friendship, I will tell you about a story between Selena Gomez and Francia Raisa: Fairytale Friendship

Actress Francia Raisa has not yet sacrificed her life for her friends, but she sacrificed half her life when donating a kidney to her friend, singer-actress Selena Gomez

Previously, on her personal page on September 14 (2017), Selena shared about the kidney transplant surgery

Trang 15

At that time, people were surprised because the person next to Selena was not her parents

or famous lover The Weeknd, but her friend Francia Raisa

Selena has fallen into kidney failure and has been on dialysis since May 2017 Selena is

on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, but finding a kidney donor is not easy And the savior of the famous singer-actress' life is Francia, who has been a close friend for the past

10 years Francia Raisa is willing to donate her kidney so that her best friend can overcome

Trang 16

So How can I nurture my friendships?

Developing and maintaining healthy friendships involves give-and-take Sometimes you're the one giving support, and other times you're on the receiving end Letting friends know you care about them and appreciate them can help strengthen your bond It's as important for you to be a good friend as it is to surround yourself with good friends

To nurture your friendships:

- Be kind: This most-basic behavior remains the core of successful relationships

Trang 17

- Be a good listener: Ask what's going on in your friends' lives Let the other

person know you are paying close attention through eye contact, body language

and occasional brief comments When friends share details of hard times or

difficult experiences, be empathetic, but don't give advice unless your friends ask for it

- Open up: Build intimacy with your friends by opening up about yourself Being

willing to disclose personal experiences and concerns shows that your friend holds

a special place in your life, and it may deepen your connection

Trang 18

- Show that you can be trusted: Being responsible, reliable and dependable is key

to forming strong friendships When your friends share confidential information, keep it private

- Make yourself available: Building a close friendship takes time — together Make

an effort to see new friends regularly, and to check in with them in between meet ups You may feel awkward the first few times you talk on the phone or get together, but this feeling is likely to pass as you get more comfortable with each other

Trang 19

Remember, it's never too late to develop new friendships or reconnect with old friends Investing time in making friends and strengthening your friendships can pay off in better health and a brighter outlook for years to come

IV COLLEAGUES RELATIONSHIP

Colleague relationships are relationships with people in the same workplace and are often work-based So first we have to understand:

What is a working relationship?

Working relationships are the connections you form with coworkers, colleagues and managers in the workplace Although the relationships you build with colleagues and managers may not be as intimate as those you have with family and friends, they are nonetheless crucial Because all jobs require interaction with others at some point Even if

Trang 20

you are a freelance writer who works solely online, you still need to build relationships with them to have a fulfilling work environment and excel at your job

Why is it important to build positive working relationships?

Building strong work relationships is one of the most important aspects of anybody's job There are multiple reasons for this:

- Effective teamwork

If team members have good working relationships, it will positively impact their work Good relationships involve respect, communication and honesty, which can all be beneficial when working as a team For example, when you have a good relationship with colleagues at work, your teamwork process will be more effective, limiting conflicts and disagreements in the process of teamwork

- Increased productivity and work satisfaction

When people get along in the workspace and work effectively as team members, they are more productive Improved productivity, in turn, leads to increased job satisfaction and motivation

- Improved personal growth

Trang 21

Having good working relationships with senior staff also means that you can benefit from their knowledge and learn from mentors

How to Build Relationships with Colleagues?

Colleague relationships are so important so now we have to learn how to build a good worker relationship And now here are some ways to build a good relationship with colleagues

co-1 Get to know your teammates:

Always, take time to know your teammates better, you never know what common interests you both would share, inside and outside of work

For an introvert, it is next to impossible to share everything with a complete stranger In such cases, give time and space for one to blossom, so that when the awkward period is done, you can easily start communicating with your teammates

2 Support other people’s work:

This is the major key to success whilst building strong relationships One must know how

to effectively handle and prosper out of this situation Whilst at work, one must appreciate and compliment other people’s work, be it a bad one or a good one This encourages the other person in knowing you a little more and hence will add on to the effectiveness of one’s relationship at work

Also, ask how you can help them in their work This will ultimately form a closer, greater and deeper bond with the two of you and will allow your relationship to blossom These things will in turn play a vital role in nurturing your relationship with the other person and bring peace and loyalty in the work environment

The universal statement, “Sharing is caring” comes into place now Share your knowledge with the people at work This will not only allow your relationship to glow, but also set a path on the journey towards knowledge empowerment, in a positive way

Share your knowledge of information work as well as something of outside work It may

be surprising that your knowledge will help you in collecting information about the other
