1 Have you ever lived in the countryside?

Yes, I did I was born and bred (raised) in the countryside It is a small village in thenorth of Vietnam around 50 kilometers from the capital Ha Noi But today, I’mliving and studying in HCMc

2 Do you enjoy living in the countryside?

Not really I prefer living in the city because it's hard to find a well-paid job in thecountryside But there's one thing I don't like in big cities is air pollution

3 What do you usually do in the countryside?

Actually, when I went to my hometown, i didn’t do anything special It’s a smallvillage and there are no entertaining centers So I spent all days watching TV withmom or playing games on my phone

I think that I won’t live in the countryside In the future, I will find a job in Ho ChiMinh city to make a living, to build up a happy family and live the rest of my lifewith my partner in the city

HOMETOWN

1 What’s (the name of) your hometown (again)?

Bac Ninh is my hometown which is a small province located in the north of VietNam Although it is a small village, but it is still a tourist attraction because of itsstunning scenery (because it has various stunning scenery)

2 Is that a big city or a small place?

My hometown is the smallest province in the country But It has a reputation forancient temples and some intangible /ɪnˈtændʒəbl/ cultural heritages /ˈherɪtɪdʒ/

Yes, of course Because I was born and bred (raised) there So I have had a lot ofexcellent /ˈeksələnt/ memories of my family, my school friends and my childhood

5 Is there anything you dislike about it?

Of course, I think I’d have to say that I’m not keen on the weather In the summermonths, the temperatures under the sun can get as high as 40 degrees Celsius

1 Is it important to you to eat healthy food?

Yes, of course I believe that food plays a major role in our health For example,It’s easy to get obesity or diabetes /ˌdaɪəˈbiːtiːz/ if we eat too much sugar

2 If you catch a cold, what do you do to help you feel better?

It depends If I get a heavy cold like get high temperature, headache, cough, sorethroat /Prəʊt/ (đau họng), runny /ˈrʌni/ nose (sổ mũi), I will go see a doctor for acheck-up But if I have mild /maɪld/ symptoms (triệu chứng nhẹ), what I need to

4 What could you do to have a healthier lifestyle?

To have a healthier lifestyle I suggest 3 things to do Firstly, it is diet I need to eatmore seafood instead of red meat, eat more vegetable and consume less rice,sugar Next, do exercises every day, at least 15 minutes a day And last but notleast, I need to build good habits, for example eating at the right time, going tobed early and not overusing electrical devices, especially cell phone and laptop

SONG AND SINGING

1 Did you enjoy singing when you were younger?

I really love music Music is an essential part of my life When I was a teenage boy

or even right now when I’m an adult, I sing all the time, whenever I have freetime, especially while taking a shower Singing makes my life livelier and morecolorful

2 How often do you sing now?

As I said, I can sing whenever I want But sometimes, I gather with friends of mineand we go to karaoke /ˌkæriˈəʊki/ room Each time doing this, I feel like Iimmerse myself in a different world, the world of joy and happiness

I just buy new clothes once or twice a year, but each time I spend a lot of moneyshopping For example, this lunar new year, I spent mostly 10 million VND buyingclothes not only for me but also for my parents

3 How do you decide which clothes to buy?

It depends on my feeling If I look at a T-shirt or a jean and I love it, I definitely willbuy it I often don’t have a certain hobby to clothes

1 What job would you like to have ten years from now?

I’d like to become a speaker in ten years’ time I love being in front of the public

to talk about animal rights as I love animals, especially dogs and cats

2 How useful will English be for your future?

English plays an essential role in my short-term career path I plan to study abroad

by the end of this year, so I think if I master English language, it will be easier for

me to follow the courses

3 How much travelling do you hope to do in the future?

I’d like to see more of the world It would be nice to be able to travel abroad once

a year Europe is always my first destination as I’m very into its ancientarchitecture

/pɪtʃt/ to low Today, I feel pretty confident about my voice And with this voice, I’dlike to become a speaker in the future I really love being in front of the public, infront of hundreds of people to talk about interesting topics

Actually, I didn’t study science in primary school But I started learning sciencesubjects when I was in the 8th grade /ɡreɪd/ and in the whole time of high school

I must admit it was a hard time to me because it’s quite difficult for me to passscience exams.

3 What kind of science did you do at school?

I did basic science such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics when I was a pupil Ididn’t really enjoy these subjects So I just did exactly what the teachers asked me

to do in order to pass the final exams

4 Do you think science classes are important?

Yes, when I was a student, I went swimming with some friends of mine every weekend But after graduating, we don’t have time to do this anymore

I like doing swimming, diving and scuba diving However, I’m more fascinated with scuba diving, simply because I can explore the beauty of the ocean

6) Are water sports popular in your country?

Yes of course Vietnam is a hot country and people love to be close to water There are a number of swimming pools in Ho Chi Minh City, and you can buy entrance tickets with a very low price

7) What kind of water sports do you want to try?

As I said, I’m interested in scuba diving but I haven’t had a chance to do it I need

to save money to go to Nha Trang, a beach city in the centre of Vietnam, and give

it a try

PERFUME

1) Do you use perfume?

Yes, I wear perfume /ˈpɜːθ/fjuːθ/m/, but not every time I go out I just use it when I need to go to a party or an event

I always make my friends laugh whenever we hang out Sometimes I upload a funny post or meme on my facebook It’s great to share a funny moment with friends

I’m not a stand-up comedian but I do believe that I have a sense of humour I enjoy meeting up with my friends, tell good jokes and make them laugh

4 Do you think it’s important to laugh with friends?

Yes, of course It's important to see the funny side of things; humour helps us not

to take life too seriously I think that laughter is good for our health

1 Do you like the area that you live in?

Yes, I do love my neighborhood It has many entertainment attractions, so I canreduce stress after hard working days there

2 What are some changes in the area recently?

A lot of changes, for example, firstly, there are more and more people come andlive there Secondly, in the past, there was no park, but now, the authority hasbuilt a new park which is located quite near my house

3 Do you know any famous people in your area?

Actually, I don’t know any celebrity close to my house Because well-knownpeople often live in the city center, but I live quite far from the city center

4 Where do you like to go in that area?

My area has a big mall, namely aeon mall I really like to go shopping or watchmovies with some best friends of mine there

LANGUAGES

1 What languages can you speak?

I can speak Vietnamese and English Vietnamese is my mother tongue and English

is the second language

2 Do you think it’s difficult to learn a new language?

Yes, of course When I started studying English, I found grammar andpronunciation very difficult for me But now, it is much easier

3 Will you learn other languages in the future?

Yes, my lover is living in France and I will live the rest of my life with my partnerthere So in the future I will study French

4 Why do you learn English?

I plan to study abroad in France as a master student by the end of this year, sothat’s why I have to learn English and get an ielts qualification.

TEA AND COFFEE

1 Do Vietnamese people like to drink tea or coffee?

Yes, Vietnamese people really like drinking tea and coffee You can easily seethere are a lot of coffee shops on the street, and you can buy a cup of tea orcoffee with a very low price

2 Do you prepare tea or coffee for the guests at home?

Yes, I live quite far from the city center, but whenever my friends come to myhouse, I always prepare tea or coffee for them

3 When was the last time you drank tea or coffee?

Just this morning, I took a cup of tea in the café near my house, and I’m really intoits vintage decoration

2) What’s the difference of writing with a pen and typing on a computer?

In my opinion, typing on a computer is faster than writing with a pen However, insome certain situations, for example writing diary, using a pen is much more emotional, I guess

Well, I think the biggest difference between handwriting and typing is the speed While writing a letter by hand can take a great amount of time, typing is more convenient and speedier.

3) Can we tell someone’s personality from his/her handwriting?

personality For example, if you have beautiful and clear handwriting, you’re assumed to be an organized /ˈɔːθ/ɡənaɪzd/ and careful person

I’d like to become a speaker in the future, like people come and talk in TED TALK shows Because I think that being a TV host now can lay a solid /ˈsɒlɪd/ foundation for my future career path

4) Do you miss being a student?

Surely, I do Sometimes I miss the time when I was a student The time when I met lots of friends and lecturers almost every day However, it was a bit stressful whenever I had an exam

5) Why did you choose to study that subject?

As I mentioned, my major was Business administration The reason why I decided

to study this subject, simply because my parents would like me to become a businessman, but actually I don’t like it

6) What subjects are you studying?

As I said, I’m not a student anymore However, I’m learning English at the

moment in order to get an English qualification to study abroad

7) Do you prefer to study in the mornings or in the afternoons?

In the early mornings I can say Personally, I focus /ˈfəʊkəs/ better in the mornings.And also, according to scientists, after a good night’s sleep, your brain is ready to take in information

Absolutely I cannot wait to put my first step into the labour market, so that I can settle down and build up my family soon

9) Do you like your subject? Why? Why not?

As I said, I don’t like my subject But I feel that I learnt a great deal of knowledge from my university, especially about the financial market

I travelled to a couple of cities in my country such as Vung Tau city, Da Lat andCan Tho But I’m more fascinated with Da Lat because of its peaceful atmosphere
