Lesson 1(Part 1, 2)

Objectives

After the lesson, students are able to:

- Ask and answer questions about where someone is from

- Develop speaking skill, listening skill

- Ss know how to play the game Slap the board.

Language

- Vocabulary: summer, camp, Thailand, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia,

The UK, The USA, New York, Jakarta, different, country( countries), Indonesia.

- Sentence pattern:

* Where is he from?

- He’s from Malaysia.

PROCEDURE

1 Warm-up:

- Greet and get class in order

- Teach Ss the Hello song

- Help Ss play the game Slap the

board Put some pictures of

countries and cities on the board

Get Ss from two teams to move to the board to slap the picture

Praise Ss if they have a correct answer Then ask Ss to discuss what is happening in each picture

an atlas or a world ,ap to show where each country or city is (

Malaysia, Thailand, Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur) Recall the

vocabulary related to this section and pre- teach the new ones

- Get Ss to repeat the new words a

few times Then read each exchange in the pictures, stop at times to check Ss’

comprehension

- Make sure that Ss can understand the situation and language in each picture before playing the recording twice The first time is for Ss to listen all the way through

- Play the recording again for Ss

to listen and repeat each line a few times Pause after each line for them to repeat a few times

Correct pronunciation error(s) when necessary

- Ask some questions to check Ss comprehension of language

- Have the whole class repeat all the lines a few times to reinforce their pronunciation

- Ss work in pairs to read the dialogue Teacher offers help if necessary

Lesson 2(Part 1, 2)

Objectives

After the lesson, students are able to:

- Pronounce correctly the sound of the letters ese as in Vietnamese and that

of the letters ian as in Indonesian and other words contain these letters.

- Develop listening ans speaking skills

- Know how to play Slap the board game.

PROCEDURE

1 Warm-up:

- Teach Ss the Hello song

- Get pupils to play Slap the board, using flags of the countries Call out the names of each country Pupils from 2 groups move to the board to slap the corresponding flag on the board The pupils who first slaps the correct flag gets a point for his/her team The group with the most points wins the game

- Divide the class in to four groups to take turn in repeating the lines from Mai,Akio, Azmi and Zack

- Read the dialogue aloud Divide the class into three rows to read together
