Lesson 1: GETTING STARTED – LISTEN AND READ

I Objectives :

 Educate students to respect the Vietnamse traditional clothing and get knowledge

of other countries traditional clothing

 Ss can talk about “Ao dai”, the traditional Vietnamse clothing

II Preparation : Pictures; sub- boards

III Procedures :

1 / Warm-up : (8’) Guessing game

- Have Ss look at some tranditional clothes and say

the name of the coutries

- Lead to the new lesson: “the traditional dress in

Viet Nam, ao dai”

- Look at the pictures and say

- Listen

2/ Presentation: (15’)

 Activity 1:

- Ask Ss to look at the picture and answer the

questions

1 Who often wear Ao dai?

2 Do men wear Ao dai?When?

3 Is Ao dai now different from the one in the

past?

Activity 2:

Pre-teach vocabulary

- Use pictures to introduce the words

I New words:

1 Poet- poem- poetry (n): nhà thơ – bài thơ - thơ

2 slit (v): xẻ

- Observe, and answer

- Look at the pictures and guess meaning

UNIT 2 : CLOTHING

Lesson 2: SPEAK

I Objectives :

By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:

 Educate Ss to choose suitable clothes for themselves

 Develop speaking skill – Ss can express their interests in clothing

II Preparation : Pictures; chart

III Procedures:

1 / Warm-up : (8’)

- Use the pictures(p14.15) to introduce some clothes

- Observe

2/ Pre-speaking: (15’)

Activity 1:

- Elicit new words

I New words:

- Have Ss look at the pictures and match with the phrases

- Ask Ss to write the answer down

* Key: a - 1, b - 5, c - 6, d - 3, e - 8 , f - 4

- Pay attention

- Look at the pictures and guess the meaning
