As you read this story, point to the animal or object as

you name it Then find a picture of you and your baby.

Talk about what you see in that photo, too.

A cygnet becomes a swan

A tadpole becomes a frog

A fawn becomes a deer.

An acorn becomes a big oak tree

And pumpkin seeds

will grow to be

pumpkins!

To extend the fun, sing this again but substitute kitty for Mommy and Daddy, and sing Where’s the kitty? Help your child point to the kitty as

you sing, “There she is!” For another variation, hide your face with a small towel as you sing As you move the towel away, sing, “Here I am!”

sky show us it’s night Then ask

your child to look out the window.

What does he see? Is it daytime

or nighttime? How does he know?
