STORY TIME 1

LESSON 1- ( PART 1)

I AIMS:

1 Knowledge: - To consolidate the sound of the letters Aa, Bb, Cc and Dd and the

corresponding words

- Learn and practice reading skills

Vocabulary : Revision

Ant, apple, alligator, acrobat

Ball, bed, bee, bear

Cat, carrot, clock, car

Dog, drum, dragon, doll

2 Skills: Reading, Listening, Speaking, Writing

3.Attitude: Recognize and pronounce the letter A, B, C, D and its sound

II TEACHING AIDS

1 Teacher’s: I-Learn My Phonics Grade 1 , lesson plan, CD Phonics cards

2 Students’: Pupil’s Book I-Learn My Phonics Grade 1,

Activity book – p.18 & 19

II.TEACHING METHODS

- Communicative approach

- Techniques: + Ask and answer (say individually)

+ Work in pairs/ groups Discuss

IV PROCEDURES : Time: 35’-40’

1 Organization: (2mins )

- Greeting

- Checking for the students' attendance

2.Warm up: (5mins)

- Play a song (use a song from the previous units)

story time

- Ask them if they like reading stories and

what their favourite story (or character) is

- Ask the students to read out the words

- Invite students to guess what they think

see in the pictures

picture 1) Look! What’s this?

- Play the CD and ask the students to listen

and follow the story in their books, pointing

to the pictures of the key words

- Play the CD again pausing for the students

to repeat

- Ask individual students to read the story

LESSON 2 – ( PART 2)

I AIMS:

1 Knowledge

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- To consolidate the sound of the letters Aa, Bb, Cc and Dd and the corresponding words

3 Attitude: Educate Sts to love their lesson and work hard.

1 Organization: (2mins)

- Greeting: Good morning/ Good afternoon How are you?

- Checking for the students’ attendence

2 Warm up:(5mins)

* Slap the board

- T explains how to play this game

- T lets Ss play together and correct their mistake

3 New lesson

Activity 2: Choose and colour (15mins)

- Point to the dragon, bear, dog, cat , beeand the ant

- Ask the students to say which animals appear in

the story

* Act Out (5mins)

- Read the sentences in the story, pause at the key

words

- Invite the students to mime them (the dog, the bed,

the ant, the cat, the clock, the dragon,the drum).

- Have the students come to the front of the

classroom and act out the story

- Encourage them to have fun as they perform

* Correct teacher (5mins)

2.Choose and colour

Key words: dragon, dog, cat, ant

Ss choose their favourite animal from the story and

- Point to an item in the story.

- Ask individual student to correct teacher’s

statements

E.g Teacher: (pointing to the dragon in picture 1)

Look ! It is a dog

Student 1: no! It is a dragon! Etc

4 Consolidation: (3mins)

- Recognize and say the Aa, Bb, Cc and Dd words

5 Home-link:(2mins) - Do exercises in the workbook - Prepare next lesson. 6.Comments ………
