Thì quá khứ đơn
Cách dùng
Thì quá khứ đơn được dùng để diễn tả :
- hành động , sự việc đã diễn ra và kết thúc hoàn toàn trong quá khứ
Eg: I lived in Ha Noi last year
We were at school yesterday
Công thức:
*Động từ tobe
(+) Câu khẳng định:
S + was/ were + 0/A
Note: S = I/ He/ she/ It(số ít) + was
S = We / you/ they( số nhiều) + were
Eg: I was at home last Sunday
They were at the zoo last week
(_ ) Câu phủ định:
S + was/ were not + V( nguyên thể)
Note: was not = wasn’t
Were not = weren’t
Eg: She wasn’t happy last night
We weren’t at home yesterday
(?) Câu hỏi nghi vấn:
Was/ were + S + O/ A?
Yes, I / He/ she/ It was
No, I / He/ She/ It wasn’t
Yes, We / You/ They were
No, We/ You/ They weren’t
Eg: Was he in the countryside last week?

Wh – word + Was/ were + S + O/A?
Eg: Where were you yesterday?
*Động từ thường
(+) Câu khẳng định:
S + V (quá khứ) + O/ A
Egt : I went to Ha Long Bay last Sunday
(_ ) Câu phủ định:
S + did not/ didn’t + V( nguyên thể) + O/ A
Eg: We didn’t go to school yesterday
(?) Câu hỏi nghi vấn:
Did + S + V( nguyên thể) + O/ A?
Yes, S + did
No, S + didn’t
Eg: Did you watch TV last night?
Yes, I did
(?) Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi
Wh – words + did + S + V( nguyên thể) ……… ?
Eg: Where did he go yesterday ?
He went to the zoo
Lưu ý : động từ quá khứ có 2 loại
+ Động từ bất quy tắc : Học thuộc long( 360 động từ bất quy tắc) + Động từ có quy tắc : Cách chia như sau:
- Thông thường các động từ ta thêm “ed” vào sau động từ Eg: play – played
Watch – watched
- Động từ tận cùng bằng - E chúng ta chỉ thêm – D

- Động từ tận cùng bằng – Y
+ Trước Y là một nguyên âm(a e i o u)chúng ta thêm – ED
Eg: Play – played
Stay – stayed
+ Trước Y là một phụ âm ta đổi Y thành I rồi thêm ED
Eg: study – studied
Try - tried
+ Động từ một vần tận cùng bằng một phụ âm trước có một nguyên âm chúng ta gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm ED
Eg: stop – stopped
Skip – skipped
Dấu hiệu nhận biết thì quá khứ đơn
Trong câu sử dụng thì quá khứ đơn thường xuất hiện các trạng từ chỉ thời gian thuộc về quá khứ như:
Yesterday : hôm qua
Last year/ month/ week………: năm trước/ tháng trước/ tuần trước……… Last night: tối qua
Khoảng thời gian + ago
Eg: two weeks ago: cách đây hai tuầne
In 2016: năm 2016
