A OBJECTIVES :

By the end of the lesson ss will be able to listen and read a dialogue among Hoa, Nga and Nhi about the famous place in the USA then complete the summary

1 Knowledge: Reading for details about a game to get the information about the wonders of the

world

3 Attitude: Students join the game to know more about the wonders of the world

Matching, ordering statement, matching, gap fill, guessing game

II Warm-up(5’) Matching:

- Prepare some postcards or pictures of the famous

world landmarks or scene spots in VN

- Show the pictures, one by one, to Ss and ask

them what place it is

- Divide the class into 2 teams, the team able to

answer the question

-Give Ss some suggestions to help them easily

recognize the place

Matching:

-T and Ss runs through the names of some famous

world landmarks

-Let Ss match the pictures with the right names

-T can ask Ss to collect more pictures of the

wonders in the world before this

III New lesson:

Step 1: Presentation (12’)

Act 1: Pre-teach

- T uses some techniques to elicit words from

students

Ss identify the new words with teacher’ guide

- Ss practice reading chorally and then

individually

- T checks stresses

- Ss copy

Act 2 Ordering statements

- Set the scene:

"Nga, Nhi and Hoa are playing a language game

called guessing game How does this game work?

Rearrange the Statements in the right order of the

game."

- Put the statements chart on the board

- Ask Ss to read the statements and put them in the

right order

- Teacher lets them predict the order of these

sentences, compare in pairs

-T collects Ss’ ideas, writes on the board

Step 2 Listen and read (17’)

Act 1 Read and check

Ask the Ss to listen to the tape

- Check if Ss' guesses are right or not

- Have Ss copy the statements in the right

order

+ Students work individually to find the

-Teacher asks students to work in 2 groups to go

to the board and write the answers on the both

sides of the board

+ Students run through the words and understand

what to do

- Teacher lets them read the words and their

definitions, then match

+ Students read the dialogue again and match the

word with its suitable meaning

Ask ss to work in pairs to ask and answer the

questions about the dialogue

Step 3: Production( 8’)

*Guessing game

- Ss work in pairs one student thinks of a famous place

and the other asks questions to find out what it is.

B: Is it in San Francisco ?

A: No.

B: Is it in America ?

A: Yes.

B: I know It’s the Statue of Liberty.

A: You’re right

*Retell: - Teacher lets them base on the dialogue

and the Ex2 , retell the dialogue

+ Students work in group of five,

-T asks Ss to prepare in groups of 5 in 5’, then

each group send a student to retell
