UNIT 2: CLOTHING LESSON 3: LISTEN A.Objectives:

1 Aims: By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to listen a public announcement for

specific information

2 Practice skill: - Listening, speaking

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Asking and responding to questions on personal preferences Listening for specific information

+ Advanced knowledge: Ask Ss to describe a friend of theirs

4 Basic language:

- Present simple, present continuous, passive

- Words about clothing

5 Attitude:

- The Ss are excited about listening announcement about a lost little girl and some types of clothing

B Teaching- aids:

Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures, poster

C Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: : Networks , Matching

D Procedure :

I.Organization: ( 1 minute)

- Greeting: Good morning!

- Who’s absent today?

II Warm up : (4’)

Networks

( This game is about the kinds of clothes they have

learnt )

- Call on Ss to write the words they have found

- Correct mistakes if any

III.New lesson

1 Pre-listening :(10’)

- Introduce : “In this lesson , you will hear a public

announcement about a lost little girl called Mary

First you name , the clothes in the pictures

- Explain the clothes in the pictures :

a) A: floral pants B: blue shorts C: polka dot skirt

(váy ngắn có hoa văn chấm tròn)

b) A: long - sleeved white blouse B: short - sleeved

pink shirt C : short - sleeved white shirt

c) A: Sandals B: boots C: shoes with flowers

- Have Ss read all of them aloud and copy

* Predition:

- Ask them to predict Mary,s clothes

- Write the predictions on the board

2 While - listening : (17’)

- Turn on the tape ( 2 or 3 times )

- Ask Ss to compare the results they have heard

- Call on some Ss to read the answers aloud

- Correct and give correct answers :

a) B : she is wearing blue shorts

b) A : She is wearing a long – sleeved blouse

c) C : She is wearing brown shoes

- Turn on the tape again and ask Ss to check their

results

3 Post - listening :(10’)

Guide Ss to play game “ Who is she / he ? “

- Call on 1 Student to describe one of their classmates

and ask others to predict

- Play games in groups

- Write the words they have found on the board

- Read them aloud

- Listen carefully

- Repeat all the new words and copy

- Work in groups to predict what Mary is wearing

- Read their predictions aloud

- Listen to the tape carefully and check their prediction

- Exchange their answers and compare with a friend

- Report their answers

- Read the correct answer

- Listen again and check their answers

- Play games

1 Aims: : By the end of the lesson , Ss will be able to know about basic knowledge

and information about history of Jeans

2 Practice skill: - Reading,

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Read the text for details about Jeans

+ Advanced knowledge: Discuss the questions about wearing jeans and write down

what they talk about

4 Basic language:

- Present simple, past simple

- Words about clothing, phrasal words : made from, named after , embroidered jeans and painted jeans

5 Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to read the text for details about Jeans

B Teaching- aids:

Step 1 Pre reading :(10’)

1, Vocabulary:

- ma’terial (translation) chất liệu

- ‘cotton(realia) bông, sợi bông

- wear out ( realia or explanation): use something

so much that it no longer works, or can no

longer be used: làm rách

- style ( picture) kiểu dáng

- embroider / ‘imbroider/( realia) thêu

- ‘label ( realia) nhãn hiệu

 Checking: W & W

2, Brainstorming:-Ask Ss the qts: What do you want

to know about Jeans? Make qts

- Elicit qts from Ss:

+ Who first designed jeans?

+ When did jeans become popular?/ Why?

+ Where were jeans made?

+ what were jeans made of?

+ What are some famous jeans designers?

Step 2 While - reading (20’)

- Ask Ss to read the text to find out the answers and

add more ideas

- Now you read the text and fill the missing dates and

words

- Have Ss exchange their answers and compare with a

friend

- Call on some Ss to read the answers loudly

- Correct and give the right answer :

- Play games in groups

- Representatives from each group to demonstrate

in the front

- Listen carefully

* Discussion: Have Ss work in groups to discuss the

3 Do you think jeans are in fashion?

Recall the title of the text
