UNIT 6: AFTER SCHOOL LESSON 2 A2

A.Objectives:

1 Aims:

- Review the words about activities after school

- Ask and answer about the after school activities with adverbs of frequency

2 Practice skill:

- practice the comprehension speaking skill

3 The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Remember the words about activities after school; Ask and answer

about activities after school and “ How often ? and suggested words and the adverbs of

frequency in the table

+ Advanced knowledge: to tallk about things they often do or never do after school.

4 Basic language:

- Vocabulary: swimming pool, always, usually, often, sometimes, never

Tenses: simple present

5 Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice adverbs of frequency

B Teaching- aids:

text books, posters, pictures

C Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work,group work

- Some techniques can be used: Slap the board, Labelling, Noughts and crosses, Matching, Write it up

D Procedure:

I.Organization: ( 1 minute)

- Greeting: Good morning!

- Who’s absent today?

II Warmer: (5’) Brainstorming

Have students think about their after – school

activities

Get students go to the board and write

Possible answers:

- watch TV - do the homework

- go shopping - go swimming

- play check - play badminton

- play video games

III New lesson

Step 1: Presentation : (10’)

Ask students to work in pairs then go to the board

After school activities

Matching:

suitable symbols

Get students write the adverbs in order of

frequency

Answer keys:

- What do you usually do after school?

Ask ss to repeat aloud in chorus ( 2 times)

Ask 2 ss to read and correct the mistake

Step 2: Practice (17’)

-Ask students to look at the 6 pictures on page 61

and write the activities under each picture

-Ask students to ask and answer the questions, using

adverbs of frequency

Write about you from Monday to Saturday Use the

adverb: usually, sometimes, often, always , never

Eg: On Monday, I often study in the library after

school ………

-Asks Ss to ask and answer questions using

“How often”
