1 Warm up: (5’) Spend a few munites revising the previous

lesson by getting Ps to do a dictation T can choose some sentences learnt in the previous

lessons.( eg: Our school is Nguyen Hue Primary school It is in Nguyen Hue Street in Ha Noi.

We are in Class 4C ) Follow the procedure in

- Tell Ps that they are going to read a text about

Le Mai and write her name under the pictures.What nationality she is, What the name

of her school is, Where is her school is and what class is she in).Check understanding

- Give them to swap their answers before checking as a class Provide explanations to the answers if necessary

- Tell Ps that they are going to write a short paragraph about their school and their class, following the structure of the given text

- Have Ps work in pairs or groups to discuss what they are going to write The give them time to do the task independently

- Get Ps to swap their answers before checking

as a class If there is time, ask one P to write the answer on the board

Ask Ss to open their book on page 46 and look at the pictures Ask the questions:

Who … Tell Ss that they are going to look at the dialogue, listen to the recording and repeat the dialogue between Nam,Tony, Linda and Phong

Play the recording through or read the dialogue aloud for Ss to listen to the dialogue

Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat

Divide the class into 4 groups Ask G1 to repeat Nam’s part, G2 Linda’s part and G3 Phong’s part.G4 Tony’s Tony

Check to make sure Ss can repeat and understand the dialogue

Language notes: Like + verb-ing is used

- Tell Ps that they are going to complete the sentences relating to the characters’ hobbies

- Give them a few seconds to look at the pictures

First, focus Ps on the pictures to identify what they like doing( 1 Nam likes playing football 2 Linda likes playing chess 3 Peter likes reading 4 Hoa likes collecting stamps.) Then have them look at the sentence under each pictures and find the appropriate words to fill in the sentence If necessary, get Ps to work in pairs

- Give Ps time to do the task independently Go around offering help if necessary

- Get them to swap their answers before checking as a class If there is enough time, ask Ps to read aloud the complete sentences

4 Let’s talk - Tell Ps that they are going to to revise what they

have learnt in Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 using What do you like doing ? and What’s your hobby ?
