Phần 1: Giới thiệu tổng quan về bài thi TOEIC Speaking

TOEIC (viết tắt của Test of English for International Communication) là một bài kiểm tra tiếng Anh giao tiếp Quốc Tế Nó được thiết kế để kiểm tra khả năng tiếng Anh của người học được sử dụng trong môi trường LÀM VIỆC, điều đó có nghĩa là TOEIC là tiếng Anh học để đi làm, khác với IELTS hay TOEFL là sử dụng để

đi học hoặc định cư tại các nước nói tiếng Anh

Ngoài bài thi TOEIC truyền thống (gồm 2 kỹ năng Reading & Listening) thì TOEIC còn có một bài thi TOEIC Speaking & Writing sử dụng để đánh giá khả năng Nói – Viết của người học Thông thường ở Việt Nam các thí sinh chỉ đăng ký học và thi TOEIC 2 kỹ năng Tuy nhiên, do yêu cầu ngày càng cao từ các công ty, tập đoàn nước ngoài thì TOEIC 4 kỹ năng dần càng phổ biến hơn Đó cũng chính là

lý do mà cô dành thời gian chia sẻ thêm cho các em về kỳ thi TOEIC 4 kỹ năng đầy thú vị này

TOEIC Speaking gồm 6 part tương ứng với 11 câu hỏi:

Part 1: READ A TEXT ALOUD (2 câu, 1-2)

Part 2: DESCRIBE A PICTURE (1 câu, 3)

Part 3: RESPOND TO QUESTIONS (3 câu, 4-6)

Part 4: RESPOND TO QUESTION USING INFORMATION PROVIDED (3 câu, 7-9) Part 5: PROPOSE A SOLUTION (1 câu, 10)

Part 6: EXPRESS AN OPINION (1 câu, 11)

Mỗi tài liệu sẽ gồm 4 phần sau:

Phần 1: Giới thiệu về format đề thi

Phần 2: Mục đích ra đề đối với người học

Phần 3: Bài học (ứng với từng part)

Phần 4: Luyện tập + tài liệu đính kèm (nếu có)

Như vậy, trải qua các phần trên thì các em có thể luyện thi TOEIC theo phương pháp ứng dụng thực tế Các em sẽ hoàn toàn có thể đạt điểm cao trong bài thi TOEIC và ứng dụng tiếng Anh vào môi trường công việc!

2.1 Format

Directions: In this part of the test, you will read aloud the text, on the screen You will have 45 seconds to prepare Then you will have 45 seconds to read the text aloud

be a beep – you will start to prepare within 45 seconds

TOEIC Speaking sẽ được thi trên máy tính, do vậy nên chúng ta sẽ có các màm hình thao tác khác nhau Đối với part 1 kỳ thi chúng ta sẽ có các bước như sau:

Bước 1 – chỉ dẫn (screen 1): Trong part 1, nhiệm vụ của thí sinh là sẽ phải đọc

to các văn bản trên màn hình Thí sinh có 45 giây chuẩn bị và có 45 giây để đọc to các nội dung trên màn hình

Bước 2 – bắt đầu làm bài (screen 2): Thí sinh sẽ được nghe đoạn giới thiệu,

thời gian sẽ được tính sau khi bằng câu “Begin preparing now” Sẽ có tiếng bíp

và đồng hồ đếm ngược sẽ bắt đầu chạy

Bước 3 – chuyển sang câu 2 (screen 3): Sau khi kết thức câu hỏi thức 1

(question 1) thì sẽ chuyển sang câu hỏi 2 và tiếp tục làm bài (như câu question 1)

Mục đích của bài thi Read text a loud:

- Kiểm tra khả năng phát âm, ngữ điệu của thí sinh (người học)

Bạn sẽ được:

- Sau khi học TOEIC Speaking part 1 bạn sẽ có thể phát âm chuẩn, đặc biệt là các ấm khó, âm dễ nhầm lẫn cũng như nhất trọng âm tốt khi nói Ngoài ra, bạn sẽ có một ngữ điệu lên xuống (up and down) tốt, phù hợp cũng như đánh trọng âm chuẩn!

Ø Vậy bạn phải học thật tốt NHẤN TRỌNG ÂM và NGỮ ĐIỆU thật tốt bên cạnh phát âm tiếng Anh chuẩn!

2.2 Phương pháp học

2.2.1 Troubling sounds

- Phân biệt một số cặp âm hay nhầm lẫn trong tiếng Anh (File 01)

(Ngoài các âm cơ bản trong tiếng Anh thì các em cần phải đi sâu vào các âm – cặp từ dễ nhầm lẫn trong tiếng Anh để giúp phát âm chuẩn hơn)

l /ʒ/ Pronunciation

Now, let’s practice the /ʒ/ sound, as in occasion To make the sound, get your

mouth ready to say /sh/, as in short For the /sh/ sound, you use your mouth and

not your voice box But for the /ʒ/ sound, you will also use your voice box Put your

hand on your throat while you make the sound You should feel vibration if you are making the sound correctly

Note that this is an extremely difficult sound for some people If you absolutely

cannot say it, the best sound to substitute is the /sh/, as in short (File 02)

* Note that it is the sound that is important, not the letter or spelling For example,

"fax" ends in the letter "x" but the sound /s/; "like" ends in the letter "e" but the sound /k/

Exceptions

The following -ed words used as adjectives are pronounced with /Id/:

/d/ changed/ believed/ preferred/ recognized/ called (File 03)

/t/ asked/ fixed/ jumped/ wished/ noticed (File 04)

/d/ invited/ needed/ wanted/ attended/ hated (File 05)

Plural practicing

It can be difficult to pronounce plurals in English Remember, almost all words in English end in –s for the plural form The-s is always pronounced It is sometimes pronounced as /s/ and more often pronounced as /z/

In the following words, the final –s always make a /s/ sound Practice reading the words aloud

Now practice pronouncing plurals that end in /z/
