Aims: asking for permission and giving reasons for refusal

Objectives:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

+ ask for permission and give reasons for refusal

Material:

Text book, posters

 Procedures:

10’ Warm up

- Ask Ss to close the books

- Stick the poster on the board

- Divide class into two groups: group A and group B

- Have Ss to work in groups and put the expressions

under appropriate headings: Asking for permission

and Giving reasons

- Call on some Ss in the two groups to go to the board

and write the answers

- Give correct answers and further explain when

necessary

- Stick the posters of Asking for Permission and Giving

Reasons on the board

- Have Ss to read aloud the sentences

- Work in groups

- Group A find the expressions for Permission and group B find the

expression for Giving reasons

- Some Ss in two groups go

to the board and write the answers

7’ Pre-speaking

Task a:

- Ask Ss to read task a, translate the task into

Vietnamese

- Have Ss to work in pairs and fill in the missing

information in the bubbles, using the suitable prompts

provided

- Read task a
