Unit 13: HOBBIES C– LISTENING

I Aims and Objectives:

Language content: + To encourage Ss to listen to a monologue about hobbies

+ To help Ss practice listening

Educational aim: At the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:

+ develop extensive listening skills

+ use the acquired language to talk about hobby

II Language contents and skills:

- Vocabulary: Words related to the topic such as: gigantic, ignorantly,

otherwise

- Skills: Listening for specific information T/F and the missing words and

summarize main ideas

III Method: Communicative approach

IV Techniques/activities: Pair work, group work, T-F statements, gap- filling

V Teaching aids: textbooks, CD player….

VI Procedures:

I Warm-up (7’):

Competition game – Crossword puzzle:

- Divides the class into 2 groups

- Shows some questions related to key

words (Hobby)

- Work in groups and solve the crossword puzzle as quickly as they

- Shows the question one by one.

- Asks Ss to answer the missing word

- Asks Ss to say bingo if they have the

answer The group which has more

correct answer will be the winner

- Listens and gives feedback
