“I don’t like making my bed,”

I told Mom “It’s hard, and it

takes me so long.”

“Will you please make

my bed for me, Mom?”

“Sure, but it will take away from the time that I would use to do other things for you,” Mom says

Then she asks, “Which one of

my jobs can you do for me, while

I make your bed?”

“I could serve myself breakfast,”

I answer

“That’s something that you already

do Isn’t it?” Mom replies

“Yes! Then, I’m not sure There’s nothing else for me

to do,” I said

“If I make your bed, can you make my bed?” asks Mom

“Or maybe you can wash the breakfast dishes or do the laundry for me while I make your bed.”

Think, think, think!

I’m thinking about it

“I’ve decided that I will make my bed instead.”

“If I keep practicing, then I’ll get better and faster at making my bed,” I said.

“Sounds like a good idea,” says Mom “Now I can finish

preparing breakfast.”

“And we can enjoy

it together as soon

as you’ve made your bed.”
