A Warm up (5ms)

- Greeting

- Ask Ss to play the game “Guessing the words” to help them review the words they have learnt

B New lesson

4 Listen, circle and write (10ms)

- Play the tape the last time to check with the whole class

5 Look and write (10ms)

- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 67

- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them review the way to write the sentences about what someone plans to do

- Explain the way to do the task

- Let Ss do the task

- Call on some Ss to give their answers

- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback

6 Let’s play (10ms)

- Ask Ss that they are going to play the game “Say where”

- Explain the way to play the game for Ss

- Let Ss play the game

UNIT 20: WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO THIS

SUMMER?

LESSON 3 (Part 1-2-3) I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

- Ss will be able to know the way to stress the words

-Ss will be able to develop their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills

II.Languages focus:

Vocabulary: delicious, enormous, November, December.

III Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……

IV Procedure:

A Warm up (5ms)

- Greeting

- Let Ss play the game “Role Play” to help them review the way to ask and answer questions about where someone plans to do

B New lesson

1 Listen and repeat (10ms)

- Ask Ss to open the Student’s Book on Page 68 and look at the given words

- Tell them that they are going to listen to the tape and pay attention to the way to stress the words (the second syllable)

- Stick the cards of the words on the board and ask Ss to look at the words on them

- Have Ss look at the given words in part 2 on page 68.

- Help Ss distinguish the words and the way to do the task by asking some eliciting questions

- Check the answers with

the whole class

- Invite some Ss to read aloud the sentences with the circled

- Listen and give feedback

3 Let’s chant (10 ms)

- Have Ss look at the picture in part 3 on page 68 and ask some eliciting questions

- Stick the large-sized sheet of paper with the chant on the board and ask Ss to look at it

- Tell Ss that they are going to chant

- Play the recording through for Ss to get familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the tune of the chant

- Play the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat

- Let Ss listen the recording and sing the whole chant

- Call on some Ss to sing the chant in front of the class

- Do the exercise in the workbook

- Ask Ss to sing the chant in part 3 to motive them before starting the lesson

4 Read and complete (10ms)

- Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 4 on Page 69

- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 69

- Check the answers with the whole class and give feedback

6 Project (10ms)

- Have Ss look at the part 6 on page 69 and ask some eliciting questions

- Tell Ss that they are going to work in pair and ask their partners about their plans for the summer holidays Then tell the class about them

- Let Ss work in pair to interview their partners

- Call on some Ss to report the results in front of the class

- Give feedback
