Morning: Period 2: 4C

REVIEW 4 & SHORT STORY 4

I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

- Ss will be able to revise the topics, the language competences, the language knowledge

(phonics, vocabulary, sentence patterns) they have learnt from unit 16 to unit 20

- Ss will be able to read for specific information

-Ss will be able to consolidate their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills

II.Languages focus:

Vocabulary: quiet, silly.

III Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……

IV Procedure:

A Warm up (5ms)

- Greeting

- Ask Ss to play the game “Find the words” to help them review the words they have learnt

B New lesson

4 Write the answers (8ms)

5 Look and write (8ms)

- Have Ss look at part 5 on page 71

- Ask Ss to look at the pictures and complete the text

- Let Ss do the task

-Call on some Ss to give their answers

- Listen and give feedback

1 Read and listen to the story Then correct the words in red (15ms)

- Ask Ss to open their books and look at part 1 on Page 72

- Ask Ss some eliciting questions to help them guess what they will read in the story

- Ask Ss to look at the story in the Student Book, listen to the recording of the story

- Play the recording and ask Ss to listen to the tape twice

C Consolidation (4ms)

- Ask Ss to listen and work in group to correct the words in red.

- Call on some Ss to give their answers and check with the whole class

- Ask Ss to work in group of 4 to do the role playing

- Call on some groups to do the role playing in front of the class

- Observe and give feedback

SHORT STORY 4

I.Aims: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to:

- Ss will be able to read for specific information

-Ss will be able to develop their reading and writing skills

II.Languages focus:

Vocabulary: Ss have learnt from unit 16 to 20.

Sentence patterns: Ss have learnt from unit 16 to 20.

III Teaching aids: Text book, Picture, cassette, workbook ……

IV Procedure:

A Warm up (5ms)

- Greeting

- Call on some Ss to read aloud the short story “Cat and Mouse 4”

B New lesson

2 Work in pairs Put the words in the correct order Then practise the conversation (10ms)

- Have Ss look at the sentences in part 3 on page 73 and ask some eliciting

questions

- Ask Ss to work in pairs to correct the wrong sentences

- Let Ss do the task

- Call on some Ss to give their answers

4 Unscramble these words from the story (10 ms)

- Ask Ss look at part 4 and explain the way to do the task

- Let Ss do the task

- Call on some Ss to give their answers and check with the whole class

C Consolidation (5ms)

- Do the exercise in the workbook
