Objectives- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to say, recognize, and

write letter J j and K k say and recognize sounds / dz /and /k/

II Vocabulary: jump, kick ,kite

III Method : Teacher-whole class, groups, individuals.

IV Teaching aids- Flashcards of hand, horse and CD player

Sing a song

- Teach new words + Jump ( mime) + kick ( mime)

+ a kite (picture)

- Notice the first sounds of the three words are the same /dz /and / k/

- Write J under the flashcard of Jump, say /dz/

- Write h under the flashcard of kite say/ k/

- Notice name of the sound / dz /

- Have students repeat / dz/ jump – and /k/ kite

- Have students listen and repeat one

by one sentence

- Have students listen and repeat

Sing a song

listen raise hand

- look, listen and repeat chorally and individually

- look and say

Tell Ss that they are going to learn the new letters J and K through the

song.Then ask Ss to listen to the song.Ask Ss to sing and trace the letters J and K

-Have students find h in the alphabet

- Notice students h is the eight letter -Have Ss point hand and horsein the pictures

- Have Ss point out 2 things in the pictures beginning with sound /h /

- Have students write by their fingers

in the air

- Have students trace and write in their activity books

Write new words

- Have students point to date and box

of pencilsin their book -Have students point to the pictures in the right order

- Have students discuss about the content of the pictures

+ What is this?( pointing to the date) + What is this??( pointing to the box

of pencils)

-Have students listen to the CD

- Have students tell what they can understand

- Play the CD with pause twice

- Have students listen and repeat chorally and individually

- Have students listen to the CD and act as Jig and Pat

- Have some groups of 2 students go to the board and act as Jig and Pat

Show the red card and guide Ss to say:

It is red.Then do the same steps with the colours :green, blue,

orange,yellow…

Aks Ss to colour the shapes

Ask Ss to look at the cards with the lettersJ and K

Ask Ss to pronunce these letters and then circle them

Consolidate and tell the story

- go to the board and write new words

- discuss + ask and answer the things
