UNIT 4: OUR PAST Period 21: GETTING STARTED + LISTEN & READ

I/ Aims and objectives:

* Language content:

- Introduces a dialogue of Nga and her Grandma about things people do in the past

*Language function:

- To enable the students to practice listening to a dialogue, then express their feelings and distinguish between the facts and opinions

* Educational aim :

- Knowing to maintain good traditions and respect their grandparents

1 Language:

a Vocabulary: - sound, light, folktale, tradition

b Structures: - Used to

- Simple past

3 Educational factor:

- Advice them to work harder for the future

II/ Teacher and students' preparation:

1 Method : - Communicative approach

2 Techniques: - Question-Answer, Using pictures, Brainstorming, Transformation, repetition, Role- play, pair work and group work

3 Materials needed: Picture, cassette player, flash cards

4 Students' preparation: : New words and phrases

5 Previous exercises: Do exercises

III/ Procedure in class:

1/ Stabilization ( 2ms):

a Warm up: - Greets the students

b Checking absence: - Asks the monitor about the absence

2/ Checking up the previous knowledge : (5 ms )
