A new way for the user to split the line by UV-Plane was added

• In previous versions, DYNAFORM popped-up the Input Coordinate dialog box after selecting
the target line
• In DYNAFORM 5.9.2, the Split Line dialog box is opened

• By Cursor: Split the line by the point of cursor By selecting this option
the user can split the line by cursor directly without clicking the Select
Cursor button Users can also click the Select Cursor button to split the
line by cursor See Figure a
• By Point: Split the line by the selected point on the line Users can select
the point directly, or click the Select Point button If clicking the Select
Point button, the Input Coordinate (See Figure d) dialog box is opened
The dialog box can help users select points as in old versions See Figure
c and Figure d
• By Plane: Users must click the Create Plane button to create the cut
plane See Figure b
• By UV Line: With this function, the user can use the UV line to split the
line

• Select a surface and the UV line of the surface is highlighted The UV line is named
U-Direction and V direction See the figures below
Note: The UV line of the selected surface must have the intersection point with the selected line,
or it will fail to split

1. Start up Dynaform 5.9.2 and open the model file named split line.df See Figure 1
2. Go to UserSetup-> Preprocess See Figure 2
3. Select the Line tab in the Preprocess window See Figure 3
4. Click the Split Line button on the Line tab

5. It will pop up the Select Line dialog box See Figure 4
6. Select the Line that you need to split See Figure 5
7. Select By UV Line option See Figure 6
8. Click the Select Surface button and select the surface that you want to use it’s UV-line to
trim See Figure 7

9. Move the cursor to adjust the UV Plane
10. Left-click the mouse button to confirm the selection The selected direction will be
highlighted See Figure 8
11. It will open the DYNAFORM Question dialog box Click “Yes” and the line will be split by
the highlighted direction See Figure 9
Tips: If the highlighted direction is not right, the user can click “No” to switch the UV-direction
of the surfaces See Figure 10
