By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to :

- review connectives

- practice using phrasal verbs

- make suggestions

II Language contents:

Grammar: - Connectives: and, but, because, or, so, therefore, however

- Phrasal verbs: turn off, turn on, look for, look after, go on

- Expressions used to make suggestions: Suggest + V-ing

Suggest (that) + S + should Vocabulary: revision

III Techniques : Networks

IV Teaching aids: Pictures, textbook

V Procedures :

Have Ss do the networks, writing the ways to

save energy

Teacher corrects, then gives Ss the marks

Let Ss learn the connectives and their functions

Let Ss review the phrasal verbs

Have Ss learn the suggestions

1 Warm up / Marks

- Turn off the lights , the fans when nobody is in

- Turn off the faucets when there is enough water

- Go to school by bike or bus instead of motorbike

2 Phrasal verbs :

3 Make suggestions :

Get Ss to do the exercise 1 (page 62, 63

textbook)

Have Ss choose and fill in the blanks with the

correct connectives

Let Ss read the completed sentences before class

T corrects and explains (if necessary)

(T has Ss make some other sentences with

connectives by themselves _ optional)

T has Ss observe the picture then answer some

questions (picture E, page 63)

Ss answer the questions

Have Ss do exercise 2 (page 63, textbook)

Get Ss to complete the sentences, using the right

form of the phrasal verbs in the box

Teacher corrects

Let Ss continue to answer the questions

* Exercise 1 ( page 62 / 63)

- What should we do ?  We should turn off the lights

-Why do we turn them off ?

 We turn them off because there isn’t anyone

in the sitting room.(We turn off the lights to save energy)

- Well, What can you suggest ?

 I suggest turning off the lights before going out

suggestions

Let Ss do more exercises, finding and correcting

the mistakes
