Duration: 75 periods (15 classes)

- Vocabulary: Finding out about people working in tourism

- Listening: skimming for specific information

- Writing: A job description

- Grammar review: Present simple for facts and habits

Present Continuous for temporary activities

2 Reservation ( flight/ hotel room/ seat/ restaurant/ …) and Method of Payment

- Request: Can…? / Could ….? / Would….?

- Dealing with reservation

- Days and dates

- Dealing with different method of payments

3 Changes and Cancellations

- Wh Questions for future arrangement

- Making alteration to flight booking

- Asking for and giving factual information

- Writing letter explaining cancellation charges

4 Travel Requirements

- Degree of obligation: Must / have to …

- Informing customers about travel requirements

- Transferring information from a letter to a form

- Writing a letter of confirmation

- Test 45 minutes (1):

5 Asking and Giving Directions

- Expression to ask for directions

- Imperatives in instructions: preposition of place and movement

- Reading for specific details

- Talking about service and facilities

6 Tourist Information

- Giving advice and making suggestion: Should … / Ought to …

- Offering advice to tourists

- Listening for specific information

- Reading and writing promotional material

7 Presentation: Being a Tour Guide 1

(Materials from “Vietnam Discovery” and “Vietnam Tourism Golden Site” )

Students work in group and present their previous prepared task as a Vietnam Tourism Destination in front of class

Encourage sts make presentation by Microsoft Power Point

Suggested places: in the Southern area and Mekong dental ( From Da Nang back to the South)

Allowed duration: about 15 – 20 minutes for each group

8 Hotel Facilities

- Grammar: Comparatives and Superlatives

- Comparing hotel facilities

- Listening for hotel facilities

- Writing brochure descriptions of hotel services

- Visiting hotel as a tour company representative

9 Checking in and Checking out

- Receiving guests

- Reading and talking about features / amenities of hotel industry

- Promoting your country hotel industry

- Checking out the hotel and paying the price

10 Complaints

- Expression used when complaining and apologizing

- Tenses revision

- Dealing with complaints

- Building dialogues

- Guidance on replying to letters of complaint
