I WARM UP.

- Ask Ss to look at the table of questions about the trip

of Mrs Quyen in the USA

1 Where did Mrs Quyen and her husband spend their

holiday?

2 Lucky number.

3 What did they see on Mount Rushmore?

4 Who did they visit when they were in the USA?

5 Lucky number

6 What did Mrs Quyen do while her husband was

visiting the Statue of Liberty?

7 Lucky number

8 What did Mrs Quyen buy?

9 What did she send to her children from the USA?

10 Lucky number

- Introduces and tells the aims of the lesson: In daily

life we often send and receive postcards Now we will

learn Unit 12: A VACATION ABROAD, part:

Writing In this lesson, we will learn how to write on a

postcard First, we are going to look at the postcards

- Read the questions

- Work in pairs

- Play game

+ The heads of 4 American Presidents carved into the rock

II PRE - WRITING.

1 Complete the postcard Mrs.Quyen sent from the

USA.

Split class into 4 groups Have the students look at the

postcard and complete the gaps with the appropriate

words

- Check and gives feedback

- Ask the students some questions relating to the

postcard

a Where did Mrs Quyen and her husband visit?

b How do they feel about the people in the USA?

c What is the weather like?

d Who did they meet?

e What did they see?

f What did they buy?

III WHILE - WRITING.

2 Imagine you are a tourist on vacation in a certain

place/ city in Viet Nam Write a postcard to a friend

about your trip You need to cover the information

about:

- Introduces the task to the students: “Imagine you are

a tourist on vacation in a certain place/city in Viet

Nam Write a postcard to a friend about your trip.”

(remind them of using the information given in the

textbook)

 place:

 how you feel about the people

 what the weather is like

 who you meet / see

 what you see

 what you buy

- Ask them to write a postcard individually

IV POST - WRITING.

- Ask the students to share their task with their partner

- Choose some students’ work to correct before class

and write their answers on the posters

- Hang the posters and compare the answers

- Answer teacher’s questions about the postcard

Exercise 2:

- Listen to the teacher

- Work individually
