5. Các đại từ bất định (Indefinite pronouns) khá rắc rối. Phân từ dùng như tính từ

Cả hiện tại phân từ (ing) và quá khứ phân từ (ed) cũng có thể được dùng như tính từ Cần phải cẩn thận khi sử dụng chúng Hiện tại phân từ có chức năng tính từ Cần phải cẩn thận khi sử dụng chúng Hiện tại phân từ có chức năng tính từ như: amusing (vui tính), boring (tẻ nhạt, chán ngán), tiring (mệt nhọc, chán ngán) v.v… là chủ động và có nghĩa là “có ảnh hưởng này” Quá khứ phân từ có chức năng tính từ như amused, horrified, tired, v.v… là thụ động và có ý nghĩa: “bị ảnh hưởng theo cách này”
