I Objectives
1 Purposes: Students can read and know about history of World Cup and make
questions and answer them well
2 Knowledge:
- General knowledge: through this lesson students can know the world cup more clearly
- New words: Words that connected with football such as: elimination game, finalist, champion
3 Skills: Reading for general or specific information
II Method: Integrated, mainly communicative
III Teaching aids: show some the pictures of sport, country and some information about
them

Warm-up:
- Show a picture of the kind of the sport and
ask students to answer the following question:
+ Which kind of sport can you guess from
the picture?
- Show another picture of the country and ask
ss to answer one question any more
+ Do you know which a great sport event
will be taken place in this country in 2010?
Answer: + foot ball
+ south Africa – world cup
- Look at the picture and discuss in pairs to try to answer the questions
