Energy, or as the Chinese call it, Chi, surrounds you in your everyday life
Although this energy is invisible, it can be recognized What does this mean
to you? There are two types of Chi - “Positive Chi” and “Negative Chi.”
Unfortunate things can happen to those who are surrounded by Negative Chi
However, if you’re surrounded by Positive Chi, you’ll experience extraordinary benefits that come along with being surrounded with this constructive force.
Some of those benefits are:
1 Financial success and improvement When you’re surrounded by
positive energy, you’re more likely to perform well on the job This often increases your overall income potential dramatically
2 Your ability to communicate with others will improve
substantially As a result, others will likely enjoy your company You’ll
build the foundation for new relationships and improve your current
relationships with friends and family
3 You’ll experience more physical energy If you battle fatigue
throughout the day or suffer through restless nights trying to get enough sleep, Feng Shui can dramatically improve your overall feeling of health and vitality
Trang 44 You’ll experience newfound creativity New inspirations and
aspirations will overcome you in a positive way when you’re surrounded with positive Chi You’ll solve problems quickly and easily because
solutions will come to you naturally You’ll think clearer and experience a sharper focus
People have recognized that this life-giving energy is available for thousands
of years, and starting today, you can begin to harness this dynamic life force
to begin experiencing the rich, fulfilling life you were born to live Feng Shui
is the method of harnessing the Positive Chi that surrounds you.
In addition, Feng Shui is a study of the environmental energy that exists
around you Although you can’t actually see this energy, Feng Shui makes it possible to understand that energy in order to use it and ultimately improve many aspects of your life
Feng Shui is described as an art, science, practice, and so many other things It’s a combination of the knowledge of specific geography, astrology, and astronomy in order to harness the natural environmental energies for good purposes like personal health and fortune
In a word, Feng Shui is about balance When you practice Feng Shui, you’re attempting to find the perfect balance of certain energies within certain places in the world that can bring good fortune to you The practice has
Trang 5recently been spread throughout the world as knowledge has increased and the solutions Feng Shui offers have been sought
The key to successful Feng Shui is to understand the differences between good Chi and bad Chi The magnetic field of Earth actually plays a specific role in Feng Shui Certain geographical positions exhibit good Chi, while other places exhibit bad Chi
There are many theories about where Feng Shui came from and which culture was the first to truly practice the art The name was originally from China In Chinese, Feng means wind and Shui means water Evidence found in modern day China suggests that this country was Feng Shui’s birthplace
Feng Shui was most likely developed in a time period before Christ, when historical records of the practice are scarce Various theories attempt to
explain the mystery of Feng Shui’s origins Among them are the following:
• One theory states that another culture near China created this art and referred to it as something other than Feng Shui However, there are no records that indicate that the practice was ever named anything other than “Feng Shui.”
• Some say that Feng Shui began in the West Han Dynasty sometime around 1000 B.C It is said that the Chinese actually planned and built a city using Feng Shui techniques They used the specific topography and
Trang 6geography of the region to decide where to build walls, buildings and other structures to take advantage of areas with good Chi
• The first written history of Feng Shui dates back to 25 A.D in the East Han Dynasty Feng Shui associates itself with the “Yin/Yang” theory, which was most popular in the time period between 770 B.C and 475 B.C
No one truly knows the exact origin, but the positive effect of Feng Shui
principles on your life is indisputable
As time has gone by, the art of Feng Shui has spread throughout the world
By the 1700’s, it had spread to the west in the Middle East, Africa, and even Europe Now it has even became popular in the United States and is used widely by people of different ethnicities In fact, in 1972, after Nixon traveled
to China, Feng Shui actually became a nationwide industry in the U.S
Many people still believe that Feng Shui is superstitious nonsense Those
who practice its techniques, however, know the power of positive and negative Chi and harness this power to improve their daily life, health and sense of inner peace.
Because of Feng Shui’s potential to change lives, there are even existing
organizations and schools that teach people how to appropriately incorporate
Trang 7Feng Shui into their everyday lives These organizations and schools show students how to increase the positive Chi in their homes and workplaces
If the history and promises of Feng Shui have you curious, you can begin to harness its power to change your life today The first step in your journey is
to become familiar with the different aspects of Feng Shui
D IFFERENT A SPECTS OF F ENG S HUI
Feng Shui is a science of nature Feng Shui is not a form of magic that can cure incurable diseases However, it is a positive force that brings peace, energy, and life to those who practice it appropriately This force has many aspects and attributes It works mysteriously as a tool in your arsenal to aid you in creating the life you’ve always wanted to live
Feng Shui can improve your overall health, wealth, and love It is a
combination of natural elements that provide good Chi to the person who owns or lives in the presence of these elements
There are five elements that are important in the nature and science
of Feng Shui. These elements have their own specific role in the balance of nature and should be recognized and respected as powerful forces
Trang 8These elements are:
E ARTH
Of the five elements, Earth may possibly be the most essential to balancing
the five altogether The element of Earth symbolizes fairness,
equilibrium, trustfulness, and formulation in general. The color
associated with Earth is yellow It stands for the center and the representation color is yellow because it represents the sun as the center of the solar system
M ETAL
Metal represents harvest, wealth, and prosperity. Metal, when
balanced with the four other elements of Feng Shui, is a positive force Alone, however, it can be a negative one If this element of Feng Shui is not used appropriately, it can produce violence Its color representation is white
Deception is a common fear with this element Its direction is west of the center, Earth
F IRE
Fire is the most powerful of all the elements Fire provides continuous energy and zealousness to those who surround it Fire is a natural leader It is sometimes corrupt, and therefore can possibly represent danger
Trang 9You must be careful not to use too much of the fire element, because it can
lead to destruction When used in the correct proportion, it brings joy,
but it can burn all of the possible joy in a location. As you could have guessed, the color associated with fire is red It is located to the south of the center
W OOD
Wood represents diversity, creativity, and adaptability. When this element is present in a mass quantity, the effected person will portray
increased creative expressions It represents the ability to incorporate
flexibility and endurance at the same time Its representative color is green like the sturdy, adapting trees and plants of the world This element is located east of the center
W ATER
The final element is water, which produces life and provides for all
of the organisms on Earth. Water relates to travel, communication,
learning, media, art, and literature It is an element of essentialness and is almost always positive
Water is powerful enough to erode the hardest rocks and surfaces in the world The color for this element is black, because it is the most powerful element next to fire It can be found north of the center element, Earth
Trang 10All of these elements are incorporated when using Feng Shui One of the most obvious examples in which all of these elements are present is plants
Plants that are placed in the appropriate spaces are one of the most effective aspects of Feng Shui.
Here are some plants that you can use in Feng Shui and their
specific beneficial symbolisms:
• Earth plants, such as Clematis, represent and provide equilibrium and harmony
• Hydrophytic plants, like Utricularia, promote a strong will They significantly increase your mindfulness and consideration of serious issues
• Metal plants like Pampas Grass represent inner strength and elasticity
Plants can be more or less effective in creating positive energy depending on where they’ve been planted If you stabilize your house and yard with appropriate plants, then you are certain to get good results These results always differ, but you can expect:
1 Chi of life, as in the addition of extra living spirit to yourself and your family
2 The encouragement of luck in general
Trang 113 The strength to fight negative Chi The plants will actually counteract that bad energy on their own
4 Finally, these plants will engulf or absorb all of the excess and unnecessary Water Chi that arrives in or around your house
With this background in mind, the most important thing about Feng
Shui is knowing how to apply its principles correctly and
harnessing its power in your own life. You can experience revitalization
in your life and a sense of peaceful joy when you apply the principles that follow

piece of furniture, you should be able to see one of your doors or a

4 Place many healthy plants in various rooms around the house

• Incorporate all of the elements into your house in one way or another
Trang 135 Establish nature as the general theme of your house Add nature
themed wallpaper, paintings, and other ornaments

Follow these simple tips to increase the positive energy in your
workplace:
Trang 141 Desk alignment If you have your own office, ensure that your desk is
facing the door, rather than the wall or a window
• When you’re in the office, focus on your luck and wealth instead of
the positive Chi on health and love which comes from facing a window
• Because your desk faces the door, you’ll know exactly who’s coming into your office whenever someone appears They’ll know that they’re
in the correct office, and they’ll notice your dedication because you’re facing them the second they walk in This represents commitment and will increase your chances of gaining fortune
2 Office alignment If your office is located in a hallway and is misaligned
with the office that is supposed to be parallel to yours, place mirrors on
the front of the doors to each office.
• This represents organization and cooperation between co-workers
3 Walls If the walls in your office are too plain and simple, add some
unique paintings, mirrors, and other ornaments to fill in the large bare spaces on the wall
• However, if you clutter everything together, you’ll often receive
negative Chi due to disorganization and inconsideration of the overall arrangement of your office
Trang 154 Plants Place a few plants in your office look so it will look pleasing and
induce good fortune Consult a Feng Shui expert on which small Metal Plants would be suitable for your office
• Many types of artificial plants provide the same positive Chi that natural flowering plants of the same type would provide
You can begin practicing Feng Shui immediately so the positive energies begin flowing through you and your life right away You’ll begin to feel
calmer, more in control and confident in every area of your life when you do
Keep in mind that if you practice Feng Shui inappropriately, it’s
possible that you may experience negative effects due to the
negative energy. You’ll be susceptible to this bad energy without the
beneficial aspects of Feng Shui that counteract the negative Chi that
surrounds many people

you’re creating an atmosphere that invites the health, prosperity, and peace that you’ve always dreamed about
