Grammatically, when functioning as a noun, a to-infinitive can function as a subject,

an object, a subject complement, or an object complement

The quantifier many / much must be used before the nouns in the comparison of equality because the structure as + noun + as is incorrect.

Another form of the comparison of equality is the structure the same (+noun) + as.

Comparative forms of adjectives or adverbs are used to say that two things are different

in quality or quantity
