series of stan ard only sp cified the a erture dimen ion for ordinary rectan ular waveg ide

for freq en ies up to 3 5 GHz In ad ition, the first edition of the IEC 6 15 series of

stan ard , datin from the 19 0's, do s not cover c r ent a pl cation This new edition of

5.3.1 Bow

Bow is defined as the maximum de arture of the actual axis of the waveg ide from a straig t

l ne of sp cified len th con ecting two p ints on that axis

internal width, the external b w s al not ex e d 10 times the sp cified deviation on the

internal width

For a len th of 5 times the internal width, the external b w s al not ex e d 4 times the

sp cified deviation on the internal width

For the determination of the external b w, the waveg ide s al b so p sitioned that gravity

5.3.2 Twist

Twist is defined as the rotation, over a sp cified len th, of the cros -section of the waveg ide

arou d the lon itu inal axis

The rate of twist s al not ex e d:

• 0,5 p r metre for waveg ides with an internal width eq al or larger than 10 mm;

• 0,5 p r waveg ide len th that is 10 times the internal width for waveg ides with an

internal width les than 10 mm

Over a len th eq al to 5 times the internal width of the waveg ide, the ac umulated twist

s al not ex e d 2° The direction of twist s ould not b s stematic in a b tc of waveg ides
