1 Scope

This Part of this European Stand rd specifies the

tolerances on dimensions, squarenes of ends,

straig htnes and mas of cold formed non aloy ste l

she t pi es which are defined in EN1024 -1

3 Control oftolerances — General

3.1 All the measurements are taken outside of the

z ne deformed b cut ing at a distance fom the

ends of at least25 mm

3.2 The dimensions are measured b instruments of

a propriate ac uracy

4 Heig ht ofprofi es

The tolerances on the heig ht of she t pies are g iv en

in Ta le 1

5 Width ofprofi es

The tolerances on the width of profi es are as

folows:

— indiv idual she t pi e:±2 % of the nominal

width;

— p ir of interlocked she t pi es: ±3% of the

nominal width

6 Wal thicknes ofprofi es

The tolerances on the wal thick es of the profi es

shal comply with the requirements of Ta le2 of

EN10 51, for a nominal width of strip and she t

ov er1 8 0mm

7 Straig htnes ofprofi es

7.1 General

The controls of the profie straig htnes

( measurement ofbow-heig hts cor esponding to

bending and curv ing ) shal be car ied out on a pi e

which fe ly les on a plane surace ac ording to the

fol owing Fig ure 1 and Fig ure 2

For Z-she t pi es, the controls are car ied out on an

interlocked p ir of she t pies, and if a propriate, on

a welded p ir of she t pies when they are del v ered

welded

7.2 Bending

The bow-heig ht S in the horiz ntal plane of the

she t pi e is the distance betwe n the cord and the

ar formed b the she t pi e edg e ( se Fig ure 1)

The bow-heig ht ( S) shal bek 0,25% L

7.3 Curving

The bow-heig ht C in the v ertical ( perpendicular)

plane of the she t pi e is the distance betwe n the

she t pie edg e in its mid le and the reference plane

surace ( se Fig ure 2)

The bow-heig ht ( C) shal bek 0,25% L

7.4 Twisting

One she t pie end being fixed, the dimension ( V)

which characteriz s the twisting is measured at the

fe end of the she t pie with reg ard to the

reference plane ( se Fig ure 3)

The dimension ( V) shal not exce d2% L with a

ma imum of10 mm

8 Leng th

The normal tolerance is±5 mm

A reduced tolerance ma be ag re d at the time of the

enquiry and order

exce d2% of the width of the profi e, measured

perpendicular to the long itudinal a is W hen the

12 Joints, overlapping

The form of the joints/ ov erla ping is at the

man facturer’s dis retion

the interlocks shal hav e a equate f e play , so that

the pi es can be fit ed into each other This is

v erified b using two samples5 0mm long

13 Options

13.1 Options are av ai a le to the pur haser which

shal be specified as required at the time of the

enquiry and order ( se 4.2 — EN1024 -1)

A reduced tolerance for the leng th of profies
