This document (EN 3373-010:2009) has been prepared by the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association

of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN)

After enquiries and votes carried out in accordance with the rules of this Association, this Standard has received the approval of the National Associations and the Official Services of the member countries of ASD, prior to its presentation to CEN

This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by August 2009, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by August 2009

1 Scope

This standard defines the characteristics of tin plated copper ring shaped terminals for crimping on copper conductors They are for use on both metric and inch dimension studs at temperatures up to 150 °C maximum

This standard should be used in conjunction with EN 3373-001

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 3373-001 apply

4 Characteristics

The operational range for tin plated terminal lugs shall be − 65 °C to 150 °C

When split barrel construction is used the split shall be permanently sealed and shall not open as a result of crimping All surfaces shall be smooth and free from burrs and sharp edges

5 Dimensions and mass

For dimensions and mass, see Table 1 and Figure 1 These dimensions are based upon metric conversions of SAE-AS 20659

8 Details of assembly tooling

8.1 Crimping tools

Crimping tools shall conform to the requirements of MIL-DTL-22520 For conductors up to size 050 the crimping tool used shall be M22520/5-01 and, for conductor sizes from 090 and above, tools conforming to MS25441

8.2 Die dimensions

For conductor sizes up to 050 the dimensions of the dies shall conform to the dimensions size 090 and larger shall conform to MS90485

9 Marking

The item code as per Table 1 and the manufacturer's monogram shall be embossed in the marking area shown in Figure 1 in accordance with EN 2424 Style F

10 Packaging

The packaging shall be marked with the EN designation, manufacturer's name, part number, quantity in the package, date of manufacturer and batch number
