5 General requirements
W here the fu ctions to be tested are specified b the v ehicle man facturer, the test shal be car ied out in
ac ord nce with the man facturer’s instructions, which shal take into ac ou t the principles of5.1 to5.3
5.1 Acc s ibi ity of ele tronic system s
The electronic components of the sy stem to be tested shal be desig ned so that it is pos ible to make the
neces ary con ections to the test eq uipment Relev ant operational cir uits shal be easi y ac es ible and
identifia le for test purposes This ma be mad e pos ible throug h the input an output con ector or b
special con ector( s)
5.2 Sim ulation of vehicle g enerated input sig nals
I output sig nals hav e to be observ ed u d er specific operating cond itions, the pos ibi ty of substituting or
ov er id ing input sig nals is req uired
5.3 Sig nals in output l nes
Consid eration should be g iv en to the fact that, in some instalations, output l nes ma also serv e as input
lnes, and in that case shal conform to5.2

6 Requir ments for the measuring equipment
Ta le
6.1 Resolution
Resolution is taken to mean the smal est chang e of p rameter v alue resulting in a dis ernible displa
chang e ( which req uires a minimum d ispla of3d ig its)
In the case of analog ue d isplay s,1/ 5 of the s ale d iv ision v alue is u der to d to be the resolution
6.2 Accuracy
The fig ures g iv en in the column ac uracy ( se the Ta le) al ow the wor t case er or to be calculated
Measuring er or are caused b d iferent factor There are constant er or ov er the ful measuring rang e
and their v alues can be specified as a per entag e of the ful s ale v alue There are also er or proportional
to the measured v alues
