INTERNSHIP REPORT

I INTRODUCTION

In the context of the global economy, Vietnam is making the greatest effort to be able to compete with rich countries and become a big country in the world Today, with the

development of industrialization and modernization of the

country, tourism has become one of the spearhead industries that bring great economic and cultural values to Vietnam

Vietnam's tourism is increasingly developing and plays a great role in the Vietnamese economy This has led to the

establishment and improvement of many resorts in Vietnam Among the resorts, Minh Chau Beach Resort in Quang Ninh province has made many contributions to the development of Quang Ninh tourism and is becoming a reliable destination for domestic and foreign tourists

As an English major at Ha Long University, I had the

opportunity to study and work at Minh Chau Beach Resort

during my internship This is a valuable opportunity for me to practice my English knowledge, communication skills and learn from experience and soft skills from the brothers and sisters in

the company Personally, I think the resort is an ideal

organization where foreign language students can gather

information and gain valuable work experience

1 INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION OF ORGANIZATION

Minh Chau Beach Resort was established in 2008 by Mr

Hoang Dinh Anh, started operating in 2009 Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort is located in Ninh Hai village, Minh Chau

commune, Van Don district, Quang Ninh province Minh Chau Beach Resort is located 10 meters from the Melaleuca forest with more than 700 years old Tran Khanh Du Temple is 12 km away, while Cai Rong Port is 45 minutes away by speedboat Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort has been developing and is

known by a large number of domestic and international

tourists Facilities and equipment are thoughtfully and

modernly equipped Minh Chau Beach Resort is a resort

specializing in organizing domestic tours In addition, the

resort is trying to open many new and wonderful tours for

tourists in the coming time as well as becoming an ideal and reliable destination for all tourists

Minh Chau Resort is located right next to Minh Chau beach, overlooking the Tram forest with a history of more than 700 years Only 15km from Minh Chau commune to Quan Lan

commune, you have had great experiences along the way with poetic and rustic natural scenery

Minh Chau Beach Resort is designed in a classic Vietnamese style, but still ensures modernity and full amenities in each room The main color of the hotel is a combination of white and orange bricks with decorative motifs in the colors of the sea Coming to the resort, visitors will be immersed in the romantic sky and clouds, bringing the best vacation

The company has nineteen employees In which, the guiding department is on duty at night, the marketing department has three members, the operating department has four employees and the accounting department has three members All of them are well trained as well as friendly and enthusiastic They always try their best to complete the assigned tasks and help

me in my work

Minh Chau Beach Resort consists of 53 rooms, equipped with full living facilities including flat-screen TV, cable TV, minibar, air conditioning, wardrobe, slippers, private bathroom with bathtub shower and toiletries included Diverse and standard room system suitable for most visitors Whether you are

traveling with friends or family, this place will meet the rest needs of visitors Rooms at Minh Chau Beach Resort are

focused on design and interior, besides this ideal hotel also offers guests attractive facilities for guests to have a great stay The palm leaf restaurant of Minh Chau Beach Resort can

accommodate from 200 to 300 guests Here, Minh Chau Beach Resort serves buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner according to the set menu or order from the menu The buffet breakfast menu includes: Salad, bread, butter jam, fried eggs, porridge,

sticky rice, french fries, seafood noodle/pho (beef or pork), corn, boiled potatoes, spring rolls (or sausages) ), fried rice (fried noodles), tea, coffee, fruit

2 JOB DESCRIPTION

My job is the receptionist in the company Receptionists are often the first business contacts a person will encounter at any corporate organization A receptionist must maintain a calm, polite and professional attitude at all times So I think the

reception is a very interesting and fascinating job

First, the front desk's duties may be to answer customers' questions about the company or its services and perform a variety of other tasks, such as receiving, directing, and

forwarding phone messages Telephone and fax messages, receive tours and reservations for guests, assist in the planning and preparation of meetings

Sometimes, the front desk may also perform bookkeeping or cashier duties The front desk staff can also serve coffee or tea

to guests and keep the reception area tidy

Also, with this job, I can interact with people better So, to satisfy difficult customers, I have to be patient and harmonious

I have to sympathize and listen to every request of the

customer

This is a great opportunity for me to learn the knowledge, experience and skills required of a receptionist as well as get acquainted with the working environment, working culture and build a good relationship with peers

III REFLECTION

Internship is a great opportunity to absorb knowledge from Ha Long University and apply it to real work An internship, this is

an opportunity to improve English skills, especially speaking and listening skills In addition, I have learned a lot from my internship For example, when I worked at Minh Chau Beach

Hotel Resort, I learned the terms and how to start a

conversation with a customer I also learned how to deal with difficult customers That I have to be patient and harmonious Furthermore, I am actively looking for ways to solve problems that arise at work Also, I recognized my weakness and

improved on it Moreover, working as a receptionist helps me become more agile and careful

After training at Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort, I have

completed the job well with the help of Mr Le Duy Cuong - manager of Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort and all hotel staff During my time working at Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort, I found the courses that I studied at Ha Long University very useful For example, an intermediate pronunciation course that helps me distinguish between different English sounds, as well

as other aspects of pronunciation, is also important for

successful communication with foreign clients In addition, the speaking course and the listening course help me improve my English knowledge Nowadays, a lot of Chinese people come to Vietnam to work Fortunately, I also studied Chinese language

in University It made me expand my communication with

Chinese customers

Besides, I think the Department of Foreign Languages needs

to expand more foreign language courses such as French This will help foreign language students learn more different

languages For this reason, students can improve their general communication skills and improve their employability

Furthermore, students will gain insight into new cultures and ways of seeing the world

In short, having spent 4 weeks working at “Minh Chau Beach Hotel Resort”, I have gained a lot of valuable work experience and skills In my opinion, these valuable experiences will

greatly help my work in the future Here are some of the

experiences that I gained during this training

First, the training gave me the opportunity to use my

knowledge of English through communicating with foreign customers and translating travel documents I realized that my English improved a lot through practice I learned a lot of

travel vocabulary, information and knowledge as well as

knowing how to use translation methods Second, with the guidance of my supervisor, Mr Cuong and everyone in the company, I learned how to copy, receive and send faxes

Although they look simple, they also cause us difficulties when facing real life In particular, I also learned a lot of important skills in dealing with customers and working with employees Moreover, although the training period was short, the

internship at the company made me feel more confident and patient than before As a corporate receptionist, I also learned some good traits such as thoughtfulness, initiative, loyalty, maturity, respect for confidentiality and will, a positive and independent attitude

In conclusion, after this internship, I feel I am more mature with communication experience and problem solving skills
