CONTEST
What: A scholarship winner will be chosen from each participating high
school The scholarship will be payable to the college or technical school of your choice
Who: All graduating seniors are eligible to enter this essay contest.

Who: Graduating seniors applying for college Their major must be
a Two letters of recommendation (original, current copies)

Applicant’s Comprehensive Essay as stated in Section V of theScholarship application The essay should reflect the applicant’strue thoughts and opinions and not be rambling sentences in aneffort to fill space The essays are very important to the judges in

matter and content of their essay, but they are welcome to
be submitted to the local Conservation District

KDMK STEM Scholarship Criteria:
1 Student must be a graduating senior from Montgomery County High School.
2 Student must be pursuing a degree in the fields of science, technology, engineering or math.
3 Students must have 3.0 GPA or higher
4 Student must plan to attend a college, university or technical college full time.
5 Student must complete the community scholarship application, transcript, 2-3 page project proposal or essay on “How their efforts will benefit Montgomery County” Provide a letter of recommendation.
6 Student must demonstrate a strong work ethic and interest in community service.
7 Scholarship is merit based.
Restrictions: Scholarship is awarded to defray the costs of tuition and will be paid directly to the institution of choice, upon documentation of enrollment.
Application Deadline: April 3
Selected by: KDMK will award based on the decision of the scholarship committee.
Award: $ 2,000(non-renewable) and divided equally between the fall and spring semester Should the student not enroll or choose to leave prior to the completion of the academic year, the award will not be provided or adjusted based on enrollment Status The full or remaining award will be given to another applicant based on the criteria outlined above.
