Any vehicle owned or operated by an SPU student or employee must be registered with the Office of Safety and
Security if it is parked on the campus, or on adjacent city streets If you choose to cancel your parking permit, you must notify our office in writing and return your decal within 10 days of the start of the quarter to be eligible for a refund

Vehicle Registration and Parking Application are Online
Vehicle registration is free, but all vehicles on campus must be registered To register your vehicle and apply for a
permit, log into the SPU NuPark System Once you have verified your vehicle information you will be able to fill out the parking application All applications will be for an ANNUAL pass If you need a shorter time-period than an annual pass (e.g., quarterly) please apply for an annual permit, then contact our Transportation Manager, Heather Eide, at
eideh@spu.edu Annual passes will be billed on a quarterly basis, and will be charged to your student account
Receiving Decals and Space Assignments
Applications will be processed bi-weekly beginning mid-September: Please submit your application as soon as
possible Students who apply for a full year of parking will receive one decal for the entire school year If you lose your decal there will be a $10.00 replacement fee Applicants for commuter decals will receive an email notifying them to pick up their decal from the Office of Safety and Security and applicants for resident decals will receive their decals via campus mailing services

Refunds
To receive a refund of quarterly parking fees, you must notify the Office of Safety and Security in writing of your
cancellation and return your decal within 10 days of the start of the quarter
Residential Parking
Residential lots are available only to the residents of their associated residence hall Residential parking lots have
limited space and parking is assigned based on the date the application is received by the Office of Safety and
Security and other specific needs We encourage you to apply by September 19th, 2019, so that you can know by
the end of September if you have been assigned a residential parking space * Due to the various sizes of parking
spaces in the Emerson, space assignments will also be based on vehicle size

If your lot of choice is full, you may choose to be placed on a waiting list As spaces become available throughout the year, you will be automatically assigned a space according to your place on the waitlist
Commuting Students
Commuter or Street permits are available for commuting students Street permits are free Street permits do not
authorize you to park in campus parking lots, except after 6:00 p.m and before 7:00 a.m Monday through Friday, and anytime on weekends Daily parking passes are also available for $5 a piece or $60.00 for a pack of 20
Carpool
Students participating in a carpool will be assigned a designated parking lot and space Please note that there are a limited number of available carpool spaces on campus Two students carpooling require one driver to register and
pay The other rider can then choose to reimburse the driver for their portion of the carpool cost Three or more people
in a carpool get a space for free All carpool applications/primary drivers are required to register their vehicle and
provide the names and the SPU ID numbers of all riders in the vehicle Applications will be considered incomplete
without all required information
Parking Citations
Violations of SPU parking policies are subject to citation Any questions regarding citations should be directed to the Office of Safety and Security If you feel the citation is not in accordance with SPU parking policies, or if you feel
special circumstances should be considered, you may file a petition online for review by the Transportation Manager

Disability Accessible Parking
Disability accessible spaces are reserved for those vehicles with a state-issued permit An SPU parking permit must also be purchased to use disability accessible spaces (the permit will have the letter “D” on it)
Student ORCA Pass
Students can purchase a discounted ORCA pass from SPU Also, the Associated Students of Seattle Pacific (ASSP) offers 24 hours bus passes that can be checked out for occasional use from the Unicom desk at the Student Union Building More information can be found on ASSP’swebsite
Purchasing an ORCA pass is a three-month, quarterly commitment (Autumn Quarter will cover October, November, and December) All charges will be placed on your student account Our price reflects a 30% discount from the monthly charge for the pass Students can apply for ORCA cards for a limited time prior to the beginning of each quarter (other than Summer Quarter) Log into your Banner account, select the Personal Menu, open the Parking and Commuting Menu, and select “Apply for
an ORCA card.” You will receive an email when your card is ready for pick-up
• There are no summer ORCA cards for students
• Passes are quarterly, three-month commitments (Fall will be Oct, Nov, & Dec)
• Cards are limited and are discounted 30% for each of the three months
• The City of Seattle is one zone and all other areas outside the city but within King County are the second
zone.
• One-zone, peak card ($2.75 fare) – discounted price is $69/month ($207 for quarter)
• Two-zone, peak card ($3.25 fare) – discounted price is $82/month ($245 for quarter)
