Trang 2The paste dispenser is only utilized when the machine is fitted with squeegees The paste dispenser is driven in the X direction on a linear bearing guide rail mounted on the paste dispenser mounting tray This drive, together with the movement of the print carriage (in the Y direction) enables the paste dispenser
to be moved in order to dispense paste anywhere on the screen
The paste dispenser is mounted on a pivot and is pneumatically driven to the vertical position for dispensing paste The paste dispenser is designed to accommodate 1kg paste cartridges An additional spacer is provided so that 500g paste cartridges may be used The paste is dispensed by applying pneumatic pressure to the paste cartridge
The paste level sensor (figure below refers) may be utilized in two different ways dependant on which software option is employed on the machine The first method involves the paste level sensor monitoring a particular point on the paste cartridge When the paste level passes this point, the software alerts the operator on the MMI The second method displays a percentage of paste remaining (Time To Go) on the MMI To achieve this, the paste cartridge is driven in the X direction allowing the sensor to scan the length of the paste cartridge The software notes the position of the paste in the cartridge and converts this to a percentage remaining
NOTE The Time To Go software registers a full cartridge based on the paste position
in an unused 1kg cartridge, therefore if a 500g cartridge is fitted, the Time To
Go indicates 50% when the cartridge is full.

ADJUSTMENTS AND SETTINGS
Paste Level Sensor
Mechanical
Setting
1 Check the 35mm measurement as shown below.
2 If adjustment is required, loosen the securing nuts on the sensor bracket, adjust the cartridge empty sensor to achieve the 35mm dimension with the bracket Tighten the securing nuts
NOTE
If the sensor is too close to the cartridge it could foul the cartridge when dispensing paste.
Electrical Setting 1 Fit an empty paste cartridge into the paste dispenser
2 Select Maintenance.
3 Select Diagnostics.
4 Use Next or Previous to highlight Paste Dispense System.
5 Select Select Module.
6 Move the paste dispenser by hand so the paste cartridge is in line to the paste level sensor
7 If the LED adjuster and indicator is illuminated, turn it clockwise until the light
switches off (paste cartridge empty OFF in Diagnostics).
8 Turn the LED adjuster and indicator anti-clockwise until the instant the light
switches on (paste cartridge empty ON in Diagnostics) Note the position of
the LED adjuster and indicator (position A)
9 Fit a full paste cartridge containing the paste most commonly used on the machine being adjusted
10 Ensure that the paste cartridge is still in line with the paste level sensor
11 Turn the LED adjuster and indicator anti-clockwise until the instant the light
illuminates (paste cartridge empty ON) Note the position of the LED
adjuster and indicator (position B)
12 Turn the LED adjuster and indicator clockwise half the difference between

illuminated (paste cartridge empty OFF).
NOTE The solder paste consistency varies throughout the cartridge Take a full cartridge and ensure the sensor can detect paste throughout the length of the cartridge without the output switching on and off Keep the distance between the sensor and the cartridge the same as when mounted in the dispenser, as changes in distance cause the output to switch Each new paste cartridge should be given a vigorous shake and squeeze prior to fitting, this helps prevent future problems with the sensor due to paste inconsistency.
