Trang 1Application
While your current Campus system and existing copper cable facilities provide network flexibility and can support a wide range of applications, the deployment of ADC’s LoopStar 700 can enable new IP real-time applications such as Voice over IP (VoIP) and IP Video over your existing infrastructure The LoopStar 714 and LoopStar 718 can provide these new IP applications for minimal cost and operational disruption via their sophisticated Layer 2 Ethernet capabilities The LoopStar 714 provides Ethernet over 4x T1 and the LoopStar 718 provides Ethernet over 8x T1 derived from the Campus-RS system
Customer benefits:
• Supports real-time applications such as IP Video and VoIP
• Reuses existing cooper /Campus infrastructure
• Low cost upgrade
The following diagrams are examples of various cooper network architectures where the LoopStar
700 solutions have been added to existing Campus networks

Figure 1 represents a simple point-to-point application using ADC Campus-RS desktop modems and interface cards Up to eight Campus-RS circuits can be used to connect two LPS-718 or LPS-714 chassis’ to provide sophisticated Layer 2 Ethernet capabilities for real-time IP applications (Voice over IP and IP Video) over the local cable plant

Figure 2 again depicts a simple point-to-point application, only this time using ADC Campus-RS Star Chassis and interface cards Up to eight Campus-RS circuits can be used to connect two LPS-718 or LPS-714 chassis’ to provide sophisticated Layer 2 Ethernet capabilities over the local cable plant
In Figure 3 each Star Chassis can support up to 14 Campus-RS circuits The Star Chassis is interoperable with the Campus-RS desktop modem This allows the customer to concentrate multiple locations to a single hub over the local cable plant This together with the LPS-714 and LPS-718 allows the customer
to provide sophisticated Layer 2 Ethernet capabilities using the local cable plant

In figure 4 the LoopStar-750 can be used to concentrate up to three LoopStar 714 or LoopStar 718 chassis’ directly and place the Ethernet traffic into a higher capacity uplink such as OC-3, OC-12 or GigE By adding the M1-3 multiplexer to concentrate up to 28 DS1 circuits into a single DS3 uplink, the customer can take advantage of the LoopStar 750’s modular design that allows for future growth and services as the local network evolves
