During the three months of internship and the completion of the report, I was

especially pleased to help and support from the supervisor and the agent of the CALI English center They have supported, advised to overcome and improve in this difficult period time but really meaningful time

Firstly, I really appreciate the collective of lecturers at Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry The useful knowledge is valuable luggage in this business semester and on the career later

INTERNSHIP REPORT

1 SELF-INTRODUCTION

My full name is Pham Thi Bich Tuyen, currently I am a fourth year student majoring

in English languages at the Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City After

completing the national high school exam, I was determined to orient myself to choosing English major However, in the early college years, I encountered barriers inskills, especially listening and speaking, which made it very difficult for me

Sometimes, I thought that maybe I should give up I used to give up Speaking because

my pronunciation was not good, I was afraid of the crowd, my inferiority complex, in

my head was always "FAIR" I did not think twice: Think give up, I can not do it

Fortunately the words of encouragement from family, friends, teachers helped me to change my mind I found my direction by applying to related jobs using English I initially chose economic sectors because I want to be a businesswoman and English language is one of the factors for me to do that.Then I became a teacher which has helped me found myself more passionate about teaching children and friends I transfer the knowledge that I have learned to the children that make me feel happy It was also the motivation for me stay away English Finally, I am satisfied with what I have done today

The most important thing that I would like to thank the teachers with their many years

of experience, practical stories, lessons, from culture to the necessary soft skill to

support students With the knowledge gained for 4 years in the lecture hall which will

be a valuable foundation for me in order to hunt the jobs My teachers have told me that simple and small things are a solid foundation for great things These are the largeencouragement for me since I took part in working as English teacher in the future

My supervisor, her name is Nguyen Thi Thuy Loan Currently, she is a lecturer in a foreign language department at Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City I used to exposed, talked and studied the subject that she taught Luckily, I am guided by her inthis internship course The first impression that she has is friendliness, cuteness, high professional knowledge She always gives valuable advice, sincere suggestions, wise and dedicated instructions

Besides, she gave me detailed and helpful instructions to help me fix mistakes in both the form and content of the internship report This has made me extremely fond and cherished If I did not have her help, my report would not complete successfully.Other members of my group include: Nguyen Kim Bao Dan, Nguyen Tran Phuong Khanh, Thieu Le Thanh Thao, Le Bao Chau ( leader ), Mai Thi Hong Hanh, Tran Thi Yen Nhi, Tran Thi Ngoc Anh, Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, Tran Quynh Vi They are energetic and kind of friends They are the companions in the last months of college,

it made the report more complete So, I will never forget every moment we try with each other's effort to support each other to complete the report mine

3 OVERVIEW OF IUH AND FFL

3.1 INDUSTRIAL UNIVERSITY OF HCM CITY (IUH)

3.1.1 History and development

As one of the major higher education institutions in Vietnam The main campus is located in 12 Nguyen Van Bao Street, Ward 4, Go Vap district, the Industrial

University of Ho Chi Minh City is an educational unit directly under the Ministry Industry and Trade, specialized in training industrial economics and industrial

engineering On September 24, 2018, the school gained AUN-QA accreditation from ASEAN University Network, a school's certificate valid for use in South East Asian countries

In the past, Industrial University of Ho Chi Minh City was known as Go Vap

Vocational School founded by Don Bosco religious on November 11, 1956 at Hanh Thong commune, Go Vap District, Gia Dinh Province In 1968, it was renamed the Private High School of Technology Junior Don Bosco Early in 1970, the school was upgraded from junior level has become the high schools ranks, also called the School high Technical Don Bosco At the end of 1975, the Vietnam government requisitionedcampus and on December 19, 1975, the school was handed over to the General Department of Metallurgy Engineering and Electronics On January 1,1976, school running back with the name School Technical Don Bosco In 1978, it was named as the school of Engineer IV to Ministry of Mechanical Engineering and Metallurgy In

1978, the school was renamed School Worker Technical Four, of the Mechanical and Metallurgical Until 1994, Secondary School of Chemical was stationed at Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai Province had merger into The High School of Industrial Engineering

IV, under the Ministry of Industry March 1999, the School was upgraded to College Industry Four of the Ministry of Industry On December 24, 2004, the school was upgraded to Ho Chi Minh City Industrial University under the Ministry of Industry and Trade according to the Decision 214/2004 / QD-TTG of the Prime Minister Through many period of formation and development, IUH is committed to develop a professional model of studying and teaching which aims at bringing modern

education environment for students

From the school year 2014 to now Students studying at Bien Hoa Campus are

transferred to the main campus in Ho Chi Minh City Besides the school has the branch and training facilities: Quang Ngai Campus, Thanh Hoa Campus

3.1.5 Organizational structure

There are four centers, three institutes, seventeen faculties, fourteen offices with variety of majors in this school

The school’s facilities has over 500 lecture halls and spacious and airy classrooms, over 350 laboratories and workshops with modern equipment and boarding areas that can accommodate 8,000 people The canteen is modern and spacious, and students can choose their own food to suit their tastes and self-service budget to integrate with the modern lifestyle The library currently has over 200,000 books of all kinds The school has upgraded the computer room for students to access and use the Internet to search for electronic library information provide for studying All contact with the teacher and search for information about the department, the school, etc., students cansearch online

Canteen, student dormitories, traditional houses, multi-purpose gyms, electronic libraries, practice workshops, laboratories and classrooms, lecture halls are

increasingly completed to International standards The school's IT facilities with internet connection will increasingly be widely used

The university always pays attention to the quality and infrastructure of the library every year to provide the best service for student’s learning and research In early

2017, part of the library was rebuilt and completed by the end of 2018 with modern student desks, chairs and an inspection system This is a self-study and scientific research environment for students Besides, the library now has over 200,000 books

of all kinds The school has comprehensive and extensive computerization of all activities in the school, students can access the internet, use the Internet to search for electronic library information without any fee

3.2 FACULTY OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES (FFL)

Faculty of Foreign Languages (Abbreviated name FFL) located at the ground floor of the block B Established from 2005 from a small unit to a property with up to 56 full- time academic staff with slogan “English is the key to success”, FFL has trained 14 university courses from DHAV1 to DHAV15, a lot of college courses and vocational college courses After finishing course, FFL’s students will get a certificate depending

on their levels The faculty also has classes for non-English majors of the other faculties in IUH Some other activities of the faculty such as teaching organization,

exam Besides, it also teaches, reviews TOEIC and coordinates with IIG-Vietnam to organize TOEIC exam at school

Currently, FFL has been managed with for enthusiasm, responsibility and

commitment The IUH English center of the faculty of Foreign Languages was established on March 21st 2016 managed by The Dean Mr Bui Van Hat It was

changed to Ms Hoang Le Thi Tuyet from 2018 together with the two vice deans Mr Nguyen Truong Sa and Ms Phan Thi Tuyet Nga who has inspired the faculty

members to have innovation in their teaching and working and unify them together Another change has taken place in the faculty is the teaching, learning activities and active teaching methods such as group work, pair work, presentation or roleplay The academic staff is employing more innovative teaching methods such as fair- trips, project-based learning or e-learning systems of Google classroom The faculty has managed to assure both of teachers and students can work in comfortable and

convinient environment Therefore classrooms are well equipped with smart boards, air conditioners, moveble chairs and tables so that the teaching activities can be organized flexible and easily

FFL will train for students macro skills including listening, speaking, reading and writing in the first and second year In the last two years students will be trained major

of subjects such as British and American culture or literature, linguistic, teaching methodology Besides, students also study skills of translation and interpretation However, the main subject is still teaching methodology

4 SIGNIFICANCE OF INTERNSHIP

I have been working at the Cali International English Center since May 2019 as a teacher and officially practiced as a tutor in September 2019 up to now My internshiplasted three months until I started writing this report Frankly to say that the internship

is a very important time for each student in general and for English major students in particular before graduation

For me the internship provided me with the opportunity to practice, apply the

knowledge of teachers to the detailed lectures from the lessons In other words

through the time of learning from colleagues I have identified weaknesses and

strengths From that moment I can see if this job is suitable or not for me, the valuable insight will help me choose my career.

Besides, after a long internship at the company, I have had many unforgettable memories with colleagues who helped and collaborated to complete the internship I strongly believe that it's a great discovery to "try" a career I can confirm that this is both an opportunity and a challenge in order to choose a later career in the future
