Lesson 1: Getting started Weddings in Viet Nam

I.Class description: Class 10A1 thirteen boys, twenty-seven girls They are

Vietnamese Some of them are good at English They get on well with each other

II Time: 20 minutes

III Objectives: By the end of the lesson students will be able to:

-learn the useful information about weddings in Vietnam such as the similarities and differences between a traditional wedding and a modern one

-read a conversation to find main keys for answers

- make a simple conversation about weddings in Vietnam by using the knowledge

in society

IV Assumed knowledge: The whole class use English 10 as their course book

and syllabus At the moment we are on Unit 7: cultural and diversity

V Materials: Textbook, pictures, handouts and tape/CD and a projector.

VI Anticipated problems:

-It’s possible to lack of time, so teacher had better shorten the last activity

-Students may not know the techniques to do the tasks, so teacher should offer them some tips before letting them do the tasks

-has Ss to work in pairs to discuss what is the

conversation about?

-checks their answers

of the conversation

-to pre-teach the new words

-to work in group and to find their answer quickly -to practice conversation and

pronounce
