I PHÁT ÂM
1 Quy tắc phát âm đuôi -ed:
- /id/ với những từ có âm cuối là / t, d /
- /t/ với những từ có âm cuối là /p, f, k, s, ∫, t∫, θ /
- /d/ với những trường hợp còn lại
Một số trường hợp đặc biệt không có âm cuối là / t, d / nhưng khi thêm -ed được phát âm
là /id/

1 Một số quy tắc cơ bản:
- Danh từ và tính từ thường có trọng âm ở ÂM TIẾT ĐẦU TIÊN
- Danh từ ghép thường có trọng âm ở ÂM TIẾT ĐẦU TIÊN
- Động từ thường có trọng âm ở ÂM TIẾT THỨ HAI
- Động từ ghép trọng âm rơi vào ÂM TIẾT THỨ HAI

4 Các đuôi có trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 3 từ cuối lên: -ate, -ite, -tude, -ative, -ary
