I PRONUNCIATION:

- Nguyên âm: u, e, o, a, i (hữu thanh)

- Phụ âm: còn lại trong bảng chữ cái,(vô thanh và hữu thanh)

Phân biệt những nguyên âm:/I/ và /i:/, /æ/ và /ə/, /ʌ/ và /a:/, /ɔ/ và /ɔ:/, /ʊ/ và /u:/ và các nguyên

âm đôi (ea, ure, …)

4 Phát âm phụ âm

Phân biệt các phụ âm: ch, gh, th, h, g, j, s, f, v

5 Đánh dấu nhấn: 2 âm tiết, 3 âm tiết, trên 3 âm tiết

- Trọng âm sẽ ở trước những âm: ION, -IC, -IAL , -ICAL, -UAL, -ITY, -IA, -LOGY, -IAN, -IOUS, -EOUS , -IENCE, -IENT, -GRAPHY , -NOMY , -METRY

- Trọng âm rơi vào các vần cuối sau đây: -ADE, -OO, -OON, -EE, -EEN, -EER, -ESE, -AIRE, -SELF, -ETTE, -ESQUE

- Trọng âm không rơi vào các tiền tố và hậu tố

- Trọng âm thường rơi vào nguyên âm kép và nguyên âm dài và phụ âm kép

a Từ 2 âm tiết:

- Động từ trọng âm thường rơi vào âm tiết thứ 2

- Danh từ, tính từ trọng âm rơi vào âm tiết thứ 1

1 Nouns : Danh từ thường đứng ở các vị trí sau:

a Chủ ngữ của câu ( S )

b Sau tính từ hoặc tính từ sở hữu ( adj + N, her/ his/ my/ their/ ‘s ……… + N )

c Sau mạo từ: a/ an/ the ( a/ an/ the + adj + noun )

d Sau giới từ: ( of, in, on, from, to, about, with )

e Sau từ chỉ số lượng ( a few/ little, some, any, much, most…

f Các phụ tố của danh từ: AR, ER, OR, ION, ING, MENT, DOM, HOOD, ISM, ESS, TY,ITY, ANT, CE,

2 Adjectives : Tính từ thường đứng ở các vị trí sau:

a Trước danh từ, bổ nghiã cho danh từ

b Sau động từ “ to be” hoặc động từ “ linking verbs" ( get, seem, keep, make, become, feel )Sau các cấu trúc: so… that, enough…, too… to, dạng so sánh ( more, most, less, as as )

c Các phụ tố của tính từ: ABLE, AL, T, IVE,, FULL, EOUS, IOUS, IC, ISH, LIKE,LESS…

3 Adverbs : Trạng từ thường đứng ở các vị trí sau:

c Đầu câu ( sau dấu phẩy ) hoặc cuối câu

- Diễn tả điều kiên không có thật ở quá khứ

- Ta có thể diễn tả câu điều kiện loại 2 và 3 bằng cách đảo ngữ mà không cần dùng If

- Cách viết lại câu với IF

1. Xác định mệnh đề IF và mệnh đề CHÍNH

- Mệnh đề chỉ nguyên nhân sx là mệnh đề IF, mệnh đề chỉ kết quả sẽ là mệnh đề CHÍNH

- Mệnh đề đi sau BECAUSE sẽ là mệnh đề If

- Mệnh đề đi sau SO, THAT WHY sẽ là mệnh đề chính

2. Xác định loại câu điều kiện

- Nếu thì trong câu ở tương lai sẽ đưa về câu điều kiện loại 1

- Nếu thì trong câu ở hiện tại sẽ đưa về câu điều kiện loại 2

- Đối với Mixed conditional sentence type II & III thì xét theo từng mệnh đề

3. Đổi thể : Khi viết lại cần đổi thể của tưng mệnh đề (Thể khẳng định  thể phủ định vàngược lại)

- Mệnh đề không giới hạn (có dấu phẩy)( non-defining clause) là mệnh đề đứng sau tiền ngữ

có đặc điểm: là tên riêng ( Mr Long, Mary), có tính từ sở hữu( my, our, your, Lan’s), có các

từ xác định ( this, that, these, those) Không dùng THAT trong mệnh đề quan hệ không giớihạn

- Ta có thể đưa giới từ lên trước đại từ quan hệ whom và which

A Indefinite articles: (mạo từ bất định) A, AN

- Dùng A, An cho danh từ số ít không xác định hoặc nhắc đến lần đầu tiên

1 An dùng trước danh từ số ít bắt đầu băng nguyên âm

- Dùng mạo từ bất định trước danh từ chỉ nghề nghiệp
