UNIT 11 : KEEP FIT, STAY HEALTHY

Period 70 _ Lesson 3 : B1 AIMS :

- Teacher introduces for students some new words

- Teacher gives to ask and answer the questions about sicknesses

- Further practice in the past simple, question forms and negative forms OBJECTIVES : By the end of the lesson, students will be able to talk about

sicknesses and use the past simple in question forms and negative forms

ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS : It may be difficult for students to talk about sicknesses and use the past simple in question forms and negative forms

WORK ARRANGEMENT : Teacher – whole class, individual, pair work,…

MATERIALS : Teacher’s book, Student’s book,…

PROCEDURE :

Warm up

Technique: Chain game

 Steps :

- Asks students to work in group (Each group has 10 students)

- Asks students, one by one to go to the front of the class, each student passed the ball and says out the word until they make, a meaningful sentence

- At the end, teacher asks the whole group to repeat the sentence

Ex : Teacher : Yesterday

1 Pre – teach vocabulary

Technique : Word cue drill

 Steps : Use 5 word cues for the target item

- Goes through the vocabulary and make sure all the students know the word

- Holds up the first picture and say the model sententces

- Asks students to practice the question and then answer

- Mixed up : Teacher asks – students answer

- Asks students to work in open pair the close pairs

- Monitor and correct

- Asks students to work in pairs to practice the dioalogue

- Asks students to answer the question a – e on page 110

Technique : Noughts and Crosses

 Steps :

- Puts the sentences on the board

- Asks students to use the correct tense (simple present or simple past)

6 I (send) a letter to my pen pal last month

- Divides the class into 2 teams One team is Noughts (Os) and the other

is Crosses (Xs)

- Two teams choose the number in box in turns and make the correct sentences with “shoul”d or

“shouldn’t”

- If the sentence is correct, they will get one (O) or one (X)

- The team which has 3 (O) or 3 (X) in

a line is the winner
