II Grammar

1 To + infinitive :

Example :

- What does Susan listen to Pop music for?

- Susan listens to Pop music to relax.

- To relax, Susan listens to

Pop music.

Form: What ……… for?

1- To + infinitive, Clause.

2- Clause to + infinitive.

- “To-infinitive” is used to express the purpose.

- “To- infinitive” can be placed at the beginning

or at the end of a sentence.

Eg:1- We learn hard to get good marks

2- To have a good health, I usually play sport

- What : action/idea (listen to the music)

- What time : time (at 7 a.m)

- When : time (last month/ in the morning)

- Who : person (Elizabeth)

- Why : reason (because)

- How : manner (good, bad)

- Where : place (in Thai Nguyen city)

Usage: Wh- Questions are used to find out more

informatin about topics.

Ex:

- My favourite singer is My Linh

=> Who is your favourite singer?

- Phong often goes to bed at 10 p.m

=> What time does Phong go to bed?

Form: WH-question + Aux (TĐT) + S + V?
